 Hi,

Is there anyone applying to this program that’s based in Florida in February 2021?

I’ve enrolled today and very excited to start in a few months.  With the cost of programs & how competitive it is these days; I’m glad to see an alternative out in the world!

Good Luck ? Everyone!

Does anyone know of current RNs in CA that went to this school and did lab prerequisites with straighterline?  I am afraid that CA will not accept those as lab courses even though you do them in your home.

I also have been concerned that the way they are handling things now due to covid will not align with the CA BRN, especially since their NCLEX pass rate is very low and probation worthy.  They are over a year behind in clinicals as well.  I think if they fall below CA BRN standards they will lose the majority of their students immediately.
thoughts anyone?

Hello,

Does anyone have additional information in regards to clinicals or the exit exam?

Thanks,

Hi overcast, I have a friend that is in their last semester at the school and he was doing his clinicals on line he said he just had to go the last semester for 10 days.

Thanks for the reply.  Well, only ten days for in person clinicals seems like a very low amount of hours.  Is your friend in California?  I am interested to see if the California BRN is going to approve the current breakdown of online/in person clinicals that ICHS is doing now that COVID shut down their clinicals for a year.  CA has different standards and I’m hoping ICHS pulls through.  I’m supposed to be done in a year from June, but they keep sending emails out saying they’re a year behind in clinicals.  Which means their program is over two years long, not 16 months.  I’m hoping they figure out how to catch up and still meet CA BRN standards or they’re going to have some very angry students.

Hi!

How is the program? I just submitted my application and transcript and need to answer all the questionaire in the email. Im currently an LVN from orange county So Cali. Curious about the Gap exam and hoping to start in August 2021

Hello All!

I'm also from CA and would like more information about the LVN to ADN program.  For those in the program, how often do you travel to FL for clinicals and how long do you stay?  Are the exams proctored?   Any details would help so much!

Thanks and good luck!

So I am taking only 1 class which is Psychiatric Nursing this semester. I am working fulltime, additional extra shifts since they mandate us to work if there is staffing shortages. Two little toddlers that keeps me busy all the time.

I am getting a 93% overall grade in my class right now and will be taking the final next week which I think I will do well in.

The course consists accessing everything through moodle system. All of the assignments "lessons" are accessed through Sherpath system within the moodle. Every week on Sunday we have to submit all the assignments that are due which can be found on our syllabus.  Usually it will consist of 6-8 "lesson quizzes" consisting of 6-16 questions and then there is a EAQ quiz/test due every Sunday which consist of 50 questions. And there are Virtual Simulations "VSims" that are due every Sunday.

There are zoom meetings once a week for my class which isn't mandatory attendance and can be viewed at your own time. You can skip ahead to the next weeks assignments to finish faster, and maybe complete the course in a shorter amount of time.

So this is the setup for my current class I am not sure if it will be the same for med-surge 1 or 2 or peds, etc.

On-site Florida clinicals for this class will be combined with my med-surge class this feb semester.

So those are the required assignments weekly. I am able to do this working full time and busy with my family, it is time consuming since there are lots of videos, reading, and powerpoints to learn. It is 99% all self study, you need to discipline yourself to achieve a good grade.

Overall I am happy with the program, the staff are very responsive to all my emails. I am excited to become a registered nurse in a short period of time instead of waiting on the crazy California RN program waiting lists.

Hi,

Thanks for the details!  I'm from California, too and have to continue to work full-time if I want to go for this program.

How many days/weeks do you attend clinicals in FL?

Good luck to you!

@JoyZ I will be beginning July 6. Have you decided to start or no?

Hi, quick question with regards to clinicals. I am beginning July 5, 2021. When you travel to Florida do you have to complete the whole 8 days at a time or can you break them up? I am still working in Atlanta. My Advisor told me that I can pose that question in orientation but I would like to know that now. With the cost I would have to continue my work schedule here and can fly up every other weekend. Please advise if anyone knows. Thanks tons.

And can someone let me know if there is a facebook private group page set up? It would be nice to have one. I am not interested in gossip or constant reporting of issues, just study and ideas. I believe if you want something you have to make it happen. I've seen tons of responses and if those bad ones are their experiences then, we cannot take away from that. But you also have to do your due diligence as a consumer and as a student. Online education is going to be more and more of a norm in many areas. I've learned as an Instructor you have to be willing as a student. Anyway someone let me know. Thanks tons.
