Hi Everyone,
I'm new here and hopefully I'm posting this in the right area. I'm currently an LVN in Ca and looking into a 1 year LVN-RN on-line program based out of Fl. The name of the school is called International College of Health Sciences based out of Boyton Beach, Fl. I was just wondering if anyone here has had some experiences in dealing with this school, currently attending, or could provide any insight into the program. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Yeah, no problem! I had some classmates who were bored with just taking one class and wished they did the "three classes" in one semester path instead but just like what Pussycat Dolls said "be careful what you wish for cause you just might get it." hahaha.

hi, I am just curious. what is mean by D/H.

The school is not the best with regards to student affairs or anything that concern the student. it is most likely self-service. If you can not take that, then this is not for you.
Good morning Jane,
I found your post about your experience with ICHS and it provided with a lot of comfort. I have recently applied but saw and heard so many negative things that I began to question myself. I just really want to get this over with and complete the program however I am scared I won’t make it with ICHS because there seems to be a lot of negative comments. After reading your post I felt more calm and hopeful and I agree that I can also complete the work individually. I hope I get the chance to get offended the accelerated program. My question was, what were the Med surge programs like? How were the classes taught? Also for capstone, did you also have to fly to Florida? I appreciate an feedback and looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Maureen Pascual

Save your money. And go to different school. They will hold you back for clinical. Just go look into Nightingale College that is base in Utah. They have FAFSA. More legit than this school. It is a BSN. won't hold you back on clinical. I personally start this school (ICHS) and drop from the program. Because they are super unorganized. Instructors are from allover the world and confused with time!! Some instructor don’t follow the school policy and they have their own. It’s just a big *** messed! My friend who is been done with all didactic still have no clinical! Goodluck!

This is true! I said it so long ago! This school is a joke! Now they are giving you a letter saying that different states MAY NOT accept your transcripts and California is one of the states noted! It’s about 15 states noted. Guys, please do more research, read the reviews, go to BBB. Make sure this is the mess you want to be involved in.
I’m not giving you this info because I don’t want anyone to get there degree and become a nurse, I’m saying this because I wish someone had told me and be able to make a better decision. I wish you all well and the best on your journeys! ♥️

It really depends on a lot people and how you manage your time. In my experience, I had to not work full time. I was constantly doing homework. Lessons from Sherpath can take from 30 mins to an hour and we would get at least 10-14 lessons per week. We also get weekly quizzes with 100 questions that are based on what the lessons/chapters we had. We would get at least 5-10 chapters weekly and if you like to read the book (I stopped reading the book) some pages can take from 20 pages to 40 pages each chapter depending on the content. Remember that with each theory classes you have, there's clinical work also which consisted of Case studies, Shadow Health (which are simulations that can take at least an hour and half every simulation) and documentations in Typhon. So if you're taking Pharmacology, Medsurg 1 and Psych Theory. You are also taking Medsurg 1 Clinical and Psych Clinical (Pharmacology has no clinical). So essentially, you're pretty much doing 5 classes. Midterm and Finals with three classes is no joke because every other day I had midterm/finals in the same week. The pro's of doing 3 classes is that you get to advance faster and also some stuff you learn from Pharmacology can be applied in Medsurg 1 and Psychiatry. The con's are it can be really easy to mix up all the content and information in your head because of the three classes and if you don't do well one on of them then you risk the danger of retaking the class and having that in your record. I suggest to really think about your current priorities and your studying habits. There are people who have the mentality of "I just wanna get it done. I'll take as much classes as I can so I can get it done quick" but the real question is it smart for me to risk my grades just to finish in a faster rate or should I take my time to really know the contents? For me, once I got into the habit of doing things early, it became second nature. It's a lot of work but it can be done. I hope I provided you with some insights. ?
