I am a graduate of BSn in the philippines and i am an RN here in NC. I applied for a license by endorsement in Californiabut they are asking me for these requirements:
1. Copy of clinical rotation schedule
2. OR and DR cases
3. Academic calendar
I graduated last 2008 and my nursing school said there is no way they are keeping these records. My sis asked PRC but they told my sis they dispose records every 2 yrs. does that mean i can't practice in California anymore? What am i going to do?

If I were you I would email the California BON with your specific questions. They're pretty backed up right now, so expect the reply to take a bit of time.
In the mean time, you may try to get answers from here:
Philippine Nurses Association of Northern California, Inc.
and
Philippine Nurses Association of Southern Cal - Philippine Nurses Association of Southern California
I know that when I was in California there were plenty of RN's that went to school in the Phillipines before coming to the US. They may have more insight.
Thanks mursinary..i received a mail from them just awhile ago asking those requirements

Since CA is not a part of the compact state licensure system and they do their own internal evaluations of the transcripts, they will most likely decline the application and you'll be given a three (3) year time frame to fully complete the minimum requirements asked of you.
Upon the end of the third year of the initial application date, if you still have not met the required documentation, then the application goes into the "abandoned" pile.
However, within the FIRST year of your declined application, you may try to appeal your application with the CA BRN of why you are unable to complete the minimum documentation (as you stated that your school no longer keeps the records).
But understand that many have tried to appeal their rejected applications and they simply didn't meet the concurrency requirements of their "completed" transcripts.
The CA BRN decision of their appeal process only resulted in the CA BRN standing firm on their same decision of the caused denial of their application.
All you can do at this point is try your best and at least you know you did.
Your other option is to try to apply as an LVN in CA, enroll in a LVN-RN program. However, I believe that even the BVNPT will need to see the same missing minimum documentation as the CA BRN.
Years of paid nursing experience will not be counted towards any deficiencies seen by the CA nursing evaluators.
Thanks steppybay! I am thinking of going to the pHilippines to fix those requirements, but i need assurance if they will be able to give it to me
Just so that you don't miss my point, what requirements are you going to re-take to fix this?
From your early comments, the CA BRN has not even received the documentation they requested, so are you missing just the MS/OB courses or also the A&P, Psych and Peds and anything else I didn't mention? Until the CA BRN can review and evaluate your school's transcripts, what are you basing the courses to re-take in the Phils?
Have you received a firm approval and in writing from the CA BRN that your evaluator will allow whatever deficiencies will be approved if taken back in the Phils, as they usually require any deficiencies must be re-taken with an approved CA BRN school/college or in some cases, out of state but with the CA BRN evaluator written approval.
To simply re-take courses back in the Phils is going to be total waste of your time and money unless you have it in writing from the CA BRN that they will approve of this process.
Without the CA BRN having to review your completed school's transcripts, there's no guidance as to which steps to take to get your endorsement to be considered.
They told me they need those 3 things, they already have my tor, rle summary and subject breakdown. What they need is my or and dr cases, academic calendar and clinical rotation schedule

Academic calendar is compared to passport and dates to determine that you were present for the classes(you'd be surprised by the fraud) and to determine concurrency RLE and academic calendar plus class descriptions determine concurrency and whether courses must be repeated
What is usually the subjects that needs to be repeated? Like the common ones? Is it ob? Psych? Medsurg? Peds?

I knew of a monitor tech from the Philippines who has been sitting at that job for years now... unable to find a school that is willing to accommodate him for those three classes he needs....
california will not change their position as long as California new grads continue to wait almost year to get jobs. Lord knows us in cali really hate others coming to this state and getting jobs do to nepotism and cronyism. My 2 degrees must be inferior to whatever they have going on in the Philippines... or maybe they just hired that gal cause she knew a friend of a friend....
trust me a lot of us nurses in cali feel this way... we are glad the barn put a stop to it. I'm sure you're a great nurse, but honestly....
there have been loads of nurses from out of the country who have faked transcripts and sat for the nuclei... now that the barn is back tracking and actually looking into that, they are coming out of the woodworks and fraudulent.

hi. i saw your comment when i was back reading this thread and learned that we're in the same situation... i don't have a copy of my clinical cases as well... my school and so as the prc already have disposed all the records from my batch, 2007... what did you do, and how did it go? my dean made a certification attesting that i was able to complete those cases as those were pre requisites for us to take the NLE. i do not have an idea if this would suffice though. i am willing to take additional course work here anyway as long as they give final evaluation as to what courses should i be taking up... how about your case? how's it going on now? hope yo hear from you...
