on those rare occasions that membranes are intact when the patient is complete, would you encourage pushing? something in the back of my mind says no? amnioitic fluid emboli risk? risk of delivering with bag of water over the baby head (aspiration)?

what do you all think?

The reason I heard this is because my mother was born with a caul and that's where her's went.

ESP? Maybe. She always seem to know when I was up to no good!

What is a caul? I've never heard that term before! Is that the actual membrane itself?
