Inquiry about puplishing a manuscript

Published

Hello, everyone

I am graduate nursing education student and I am interested in submitting a morificecript about steps to overcome the clinical stress among nursing student during their clinical practice.

Would you pleas advice me to chose the appropriate journal for my topic?

I think the Journal of Nursing Education would be the most likely choice. Elsevier also has a journal match tool on their Journal Author website.

When you submit your morificecript don't get discouraged if you get a rejection notice. This doesn't mean your morificecript was bad, just that it wasn't what that journal was looking for.

Wishing you the best of luck as you begin this rocess!

Generally, not necessary. Morificecripts coming out of graduate nursing programs are frequently the result of two or three semesters and have bee extensively reviewed by the faculty. Further, many colleges and universities have writing centers and will provide a free review. Although submission to the writing center was required in my program, I would have used it regardless and highly encourage everyone to take advantage of this if available.

Look at the main journals in your area of interest and review their author guidelines to see what kind of morificecripts they seek to publish. Send a query letter to the editor of the journal before you send in your morificecript. Pitch your topic and see if they are interested. Be ready to respond to revision feedback from reviewers and make changes that are suggested.

Typically, it is difficult to get a paper written for a class assignment published, because it was written for a particular instructor who was asking the student to investigate a topic as part of a learning assignment. The topic may be well reported in the literature already, so may not need further publishing (ie benefits of breastfeeding). Morificecripts need to carve out new knowledge that is not repeated elsewhere in the literature, which will catch the eyes of an editor and the review team. (As an experienced reviewer, it is easy to spot a submitted morificecript that was a class assignment. These morificecripts tend to pay less attention, if any, to the author guidelines. They were written for their class for a grade, and their instructor liked it and encouraged them to publish it, but did not emphasize the need to tailor the morificecript to the journals expectations. That is a crucial point where the editor and reviewers lose interest in the morificecript.)

It's a tough market for publishing, so be ready to be persistent, make revisions, and receive rejections notices, but submit to other journals.

I really enjoy that your response had a typo in it. Please tell me it was intentionally meant to be clever! Otherwise maybe we ALL should get editors to monitor our social media postings!
