inexperienced nurse from Philippines to work in Dubai

Good day,

I have an uncle in Dubai who is gonna process my Visit or Tourist Visa this week. It cost alot so I want to be careful. I am a licensed nurse here however, I, like alot of my colleagues, have no Hospital Experience. I have read alot of similar questions like this here in allnurses and have found out that I will likely end up in a clinic. I also looked into the DOHMS website and saw that all hospitals require 2 years experience. I am still hopeful for a hospital job.

1. Is it possible for me to work in a hospital in Dubia/ UAE?

2. Has anyone done this?

3. If it is possible, can I do it in 1 month?

Thanks for the information!=) As for my case mY brother(computer field) is also in Dubai now, he will support me in my finances there so this would make it easier for me to survive there.

How much is the processing for DOHMS? If i will finace the processing of my own DOHMS license will they still require me to have a two year experience?

Hi, the processing fee is 1010++dirhams. But you have to complete their requirements of 2 yrs. experience certificate + copy of your school credentials with authentication of UAE embassy. Copy of your Registration Certification as a nurse.

If you wanted to work in a clinic you need also DOHMS licence.

If you will come on visit visa i don't think you can accomplish everything for 1 month. Visit visa nowadys here in UAE is very hard.

I know a few swedish nurses who has been working in Dubai. They were nurses with many years of work experience (+15 years)and with specialist educations but yet they had to go through a series of tests,interviews,payments etc etc before they were hired.

Would 2 years of work experience as a company nurse for a private company satisfy the DOHMS/MOH requirement regarding the employment certificate?

Why don't you contact the authorities in Dubai and get the answer directly?? People can only tell you what they have experienced.

After reading this thread, can't help but wonder what happened to the OP. Hope that they were able to find work and are now comfortable in Dubai.
