Does anyone know anything about Indiana State University's LPN to BSN program? I'm wondering about clinicals and online class info. Thanks as always

Go here http://www.college-net.com/ and contact them. They will explain to you how it works.

Hi,
Lets use the Sticky created for ISU on the top of the initial Distance learning screen. It will keep all this info in one place.
Thanks, Brenda

don't go through the college network ( publishing company) go straight to indiana state university. you can also get the info off their website.
Getting what classes are required is hard to get thru ISU. They consistently tell me to contact TCN.
TCN provides a nice grid as to what courses are required and what tests are available. I have not paid TCN a penney for the info I have got. There are also 50 credits that have to be upper level college courses to graduate from ISU. 39 are provided when you take their nursing courses, but you must make sure you have an additional 12 credits or 4 courses that are upper level. I would hate to see people having to take extra classes.
Have a great day!

Will California let you work with an online degree from ISU?
I heard that a degree from Excelsior is not valid for working as an RN in the State of California (as well as a few others).
Thanks!!!

Yes, they are listed on CA's BON website as an approved online school. I'm probably going to go with them myself.
the only reason i say this is because the only part of the program you need the study guides for is the 4 nursing courses. by now enough students should have passed these courses and you should be able to buy them discounted. you can get on their website and the classes you need. when i talked to them i told them i was not going through tcn and they talked to me. they even sent me their degree plans and pamphlets. if you have to go through tcn just buy exactly what you have to. do your clep test on your own ... these would be the 4 nursing courses and when i was inquiring the total for that was $2400. jezzzz i can buy a car with that...

You are exactly right on! But I am having a hard time finding the 4 modules anywhere!!! I can't find anyone who has taken any of the 4 tests either...
ANYONE OUT THERE??
All:
- I just received an e-mail from a Ms. Kim Cook (ISU College of Nursing, Health, and Human Services) that states the following:
Although the LPN-BSN Distance Learning Program is not recognized in New
York, a number of other states have been recognized or approved and we
are working diligently to complete the process through your State Board
of Nursing.
========
Any other states that are not accepting the ISU LPN -> BSN distance learning degree?
this was another thing i could not get a clear concrete answer as to which states are accepting this or not....

That's my frustration with this program. I keep getting the runaround with regards to which states will not license (by endorsement) an individual with an online degree from ISU.
Also, I am getting the runaround with regards to the clinical portion of the class. The College Network tells me that there are clinical sites here in Syracuse, NY ... but they don't tell me which hospitals or sites. Then comes the message directly from ISU that New York doesn't recognize the ISU degree.
So what the heck is going on?? It's very difficult to find someone at ISU to directly talk to. I want to talk to someone in charge (who knows what's going on), and not some salesperson reading standard sales literature off of a computer screen.
Frustrating to say the least.
