moderator note: this is a continuation of a previous thread that was very long and split by member request. this thread is primarily for current student discussion. there is another thread of faq: https://allnurses.com/distance-learning-nursing/isu-faq-thread-365878.html
we had to take micro, stats, math, biology, couple of humanities, etc, etc. maybe she meant that's just the one specific to nursing, as in in addition to the rest of the gen eds? anyway, good luck on both your applications!
raining woman,
Look on ebay and search for college network, there has been a whole set on there this week. I'm not at the point of needing the modules just yet. I plan on taking A&P I/II, Chem, Micro through my local CC this next year and then I will be able to apply. I am studying Sociology Clep right now and hope to be testing out this month.
Hope this helps with looking for the modules.
The main problem I'm having is finding out the NAMES of the books, so that I can search for them on ebay. I don't know the titles, ISBN, or whatnot, so I have no way to search for them. Nursing 106 Mental Health Aspects of Nursing is all I have to go on, and I don't know which book it is. Thank you for responding, I'm only lost since I don't know what the actual BOOKS are.
rainingwoman,
When you go to ebay, search for "college network". A list of different modules will come up and I just looked at them and actually there is another set that has been added today. The only thing is that the two different sets have other general ed modules with them, but if you can get them at a good price you can always re-list the general ed modules back on ebay. Look for the following listing after you search for "college network": Brand New Excelsior College Network Set (this says Excelsior but the modules needed for ISU is what is in this set) and the other set says something about (LVN-RN Bridge). Hope this helps you better. The names are: Nursing Care of the Child and Family, Nursing Care of the Childbearing Family, Nursing Care of Adults, Mental Health Aspects of Nursing Practice. Hope this helps you better.
for the spring deadline, yes, you do have to complete all 4 csm'sby november, 2009.
you do not need to submit background check, immunizations etc until you complete the application to the nursing program. you send all the information together at the same time.
the admission is on a rolling status and you get your acceptance about a month after.
make sense? hope so!!
good luck!!
Thank you for your help with the nursing modules! What a pain in the toosh. I found quite a few on ebay, and I might just be really, really dumb.... but very few are listed with the titles, I see a lot with the numbers. ie Nursing Concepts 2, 5, etc.
I did see lots of "excelsior" things, I just am worried I won't get the right ones, since they aren't listed, any suggestions!
Sorry everyone, I know I'm being a pain in the butt, I'm just trying to be thrify :)
Rainingwoman, the titles of the nursing mods are:
Mental health Aspects of Nursing Practice
Nursing Care of Adults
Nursing Care of the Child and Family
Nursing Care of the Childbearing Family
Look them up on ebay by those names and you should find something. When I get done with them, if you are still looking for them, I would be glad to work something out with you. Somehow I misplaced my Childbearing Family (really mad....but that is what happens when you have a baby and then six days later go to a dr's appt and take said book with you to study while you wait....you lose it), but I do have the other three.
I am still hopeful for the Spring '10 semester; I did just have my baby girl (She's two weeks old today!!!!) so I have slowed down a little bit on getting study mods completed. I am planning on stepping up this next week and taking my first exam and scheduling my second; we will see how my little one cooperates!
Hi everyone,
I'm in the same boat as every one -- I'm looking for someone who has finished w/ 4 CSMs. Even if you only have 1 or 2, I'm interested in buying them. I would much rather pay one of you than pay The College Network.
I've checked on ebay, but there aren't any showing up --they are all for Excelsior.
Thanks

Hey Everyone,
I just got accepted to ISU (woot!) but won't be applying until the June 1st deadline. I'm already frustrated trying to find CSM without using TCN. I was wondering if any of you have the ISBN numbers off any of those modules? Of names, titles, authors, what have you? Also, chaxanmom mentioned a while back that you could find a spot on the ISU website where students were selling their old CSMs, but I can't find that anywhere. Could any of you lovely ladies help me with this? I was told by ISU they can't really help me find used books since they're affiliates of TCN and all. Any help is greatly appreciated!
