Ivy Tech Spring '10 Applicants

U.S.A. Indiana

Published

This is the "Not In" thread, or for anyone that's planning on applying for Spring Semester by the Sept 1st deadline.

We need love too! :loveya:

My Boring Stats:

A's in prereq's except ANP 2...taking that class now.

Horribly embarrassing TEAS at 76, still have two more tries. (Which is why I'm taking math and phys sci this summer. lol)

Hope to get into the Bloomington or Terre Haute programs. (Yay! Greene county gets region pts at both. lol)

Currently frazzling myself out with 5 online classes

It's nice to meet you....whoever you are....

Specializes in Neurology.

It is so nice to see more people on the board to chat with over the next month, because It is going to be one long four weeks.

Kim, it's encouraging that Lennon said she got in for Fall at Indy with 210! I'm sure you will get in!

Here's hoping Chris, it seems very competitive so far this round in Indy! Will you trade me scores to make me feel better? Pretty Please. :clown:

Thanks for posting your score Lennon, it gives me hope. You too Carlos, thanks for posting yours, it is nice to know where we are fall. I am sitting at 211 and keeping my fingers crossed. I have a few friends that scored 90 + on the TEAS and are applying this round and am feeling more than a little nervous about the results. Here's hoping we all make it into the program!

is anyone on this forum applying for more than one location and more than one program? I'm from region 5 and am applying for LPN and RN at all the places in my region. I went to an info session and they told me i have to go to an info session for each location. doesnt that seem redundant?? haha

It's only been a few days, and it feels like it's been weeks. lol

To the PP--I'm applying at more than one, and yes, you have to attend one at every campus that you're planning to apply. Yes, it's redundant, and yes--(I feel guilty for saying this) it's a huge waste of time. It seems like they spend most of the sessions either a) telling you how hard it is to get in or b) answering questions that shouldn't have even been asked--because they are written down someone on the website, on the paper, etc. I think they do that just so they know that you'll actually drive there in case you do get in. Or maybe to have another way to cut potentials to make the pool smaller.

I don't even know if I want to say what I applied with, after reading some of the scores from those applying in other regions I am not quite as pleased with my result. I will say that after the letters come, no matter what happens I will tell my score. right now I'd be lying if I said I don't know how great my chances are getting into the program even though my grades are great.

I know what you mean. Everyone posting seems like a shoo-in. Mine is 204--that's including region pts. @@ I know it's not near enough for Bloomington, which only has 10 RN spots open. I also applied in Terre Haute, which doesn't have LPN.....so I'm down to hoping for RN in Terre Haute, or LPN in Bloomington. = ) Whatever your score is, you shouldn't be ashamed. You did your best, and we're all in it together!

Oh, I should mention I applied to Terre Haute without my ANP 2 scores, and 5 less TEAS pts in the fall....and I missed the LPN by 12 or so points...and that was before people started dropping out to go to other campuses. No matter what your score, you shouldn't give up hope yet. = )

I applied with a 212 to Indy and 209 to Columbus... I'm very nervous I won't get into Indy

At the most recent info session at Indy, she said the historical average on the TEAS was 87. Thus, using that average TEAS score, if someone had 4 As and was in region, their score would be 210. So it seems like a 212 has a very very good chance at getting in.

I'm taking A&P 201 at Indy and I heard some people talking about their scores that they applied with, and they were like 202, 207, that range.

Blindmouse, did you decide against applying to Indy?

I'm taking 201 at a different campus... I'm not enjoying it too much

Chris,

I did but it wasn't by choice. Lack of travel money stopped me from going to the info session. = )

Ivy had an error which deleted ALL of my financial aid. Of course, they were too busy to fix it until after classes started......so I had to pay for all the books + a tuition payment up front when I hadn't expected to. Ugh. = ) Just glad it's taken care of now. = )

Hello all,

I also applied for the LPN program only at 2 campuses (205 for my region, 202 for the other). I know Indy must be a lot more competitive campus than up north where I am. We were told that the high end score for RN for the fall at South Bend was 205. I think that if you guys scored 200+, you should be in good standing to get in. Good luck to everyone!!
