I was wanting to know what a new grad can expect salary wise in Indiana, either hourly or yearly. Also which areas of nursing offer higher paying jobs. Also in this economy how easy is it to find nursing jobs right now.
 Please help...very worried nursing student...

Don't know where you are in Indiana. I'm in Southern part. Daughter in law is graduating with ASN in May, can only find a job in LTC. One hospital not hiring, one only hiring BSN's. Starting pay somewhere around $19 to $21 an hour I believe. The hospitals here don't differentiate pay between ASN/BSN (yet) or areas (critical care vs med/surg). Good luck and hang in there!

I work at Methodist and we just got aprroved for our raises this year which is gonna equal everyone out to 22.40 including new grads. I know we are hiring bc I have seen our manager interviewing. I absolutely LOVE my job, the unit I am on, and the pts we work with. I am on the cardio surgical med surg. Let me know if you have anymore questions.
