Hello, my name is LaTeisha and I am completing my final two classes at WGU in their MSN-nurse informatics program. My classes have been on hold for two terms now due to my not having a preceptor. I am an RN in New York and the preceptor should be a master-prepared registered nurse who is registered in the state of New York. All of the preceptorship duties are done remotely, there are no required number of practicum hours and the student does not need to present to the assigned site unless the student and preceptor agree upon their meeting. The preceptorship is guided as a resource for the student to fall back upon if there are questions about the project the student needs to complete. Said project does not have to be implemented, it is a mock project
Preceptors do not have to be informatics nurses, they need to have worked in the EMR for the past 2 years and be MSNs. Please help me. Thank you so much.

Hi LaTeisha, I worked in informatics & have an MSN, but I'm in CA. If your program would allow you to work w/ a preceptor in another state, please message me.
Hello Golden,
I greatly appreciate your responding to my posting. They would allow me to work with a preceptor from another state, but only if that preceptor had a host site willing to work with me. I would never have to come to the host site for preceptorship, but having a host site is one of the school's requirements.
Thanks,
LaTeisha Akinboni

Hi. I'm also a MSN informatics student. I wanted to ask if you know anyone else who can be a preceptor or if you would be able to help? I'm sorry for some reason I can't send private messages so I have to respond to comments on other people's posts.

Hi,
I am looking for a preceptor. I am an MS-Health Informatics student at Grand Canyon University and am required to complete a virtual or onsite practicum of 150 hours.
My last class of the program is now on hold due to not having a preceptor. I currently live in Houston, Texas and I do not mind a preceptorship done remotely. I am reaching out to see if anyone can be of assistance in securing a preceptor with the following qualifications:
1-Holds an unencumbered and current nursing license. 2-Must hold a master's degree in Nursing. 3-Minimum of 2 years of current work experience in informatics. 4-Minimum of 3 months at current employer. 5-Able to provide an educational experience that will help meet overall practicum objectives and personal learning objectives
Please, if anyone is interested or you know of a possible preceptor with the above qualifications, I would be grateful to speak with them and answer any questions they may have surrounding the virtual practicum contingency plan implemented by GCU. Any assistance provided will be much appreciated, thanks again! My email is [email protected]. Thank you

Hello
Is anyone available to assist a fellow nurse looking for a preceptor for the WGU informatics program. I'm finishing up my last two classes in WGU's MSN degree in nursing informatics. I am in Florida and am willing to pay anyone for their time and commitment to assist me. There are no mandatory practicum hours, all preceptorship tasks are completed virtually only, and students are not required to report to any physical designated place unless mutually agreed upon in advance. The preceptorship serves as a guide and a resource for the student to consult when they have inquiries concerning the assignment they need to complete. It is a mock project only and the preceptors are just their to guide. Keep in mind that the preceptors do not have to be informatics nurses, the only requirement is that they have to hold a MSN and have worked in an EMR previously. Thanks in advance for whatever help anyone can offer in helping to locate a preceptor. If available I can be reached at [email protected].
