In-home NP Medicare Assessments

Specialties NP

I have seen several job postings for these type of positions. I am interested in the position because it sounds like there is a good amount of flexibility.

Does anyone have experience doing them? What exactly does the visit entail? Did you enjoy it? What did you think of the salary? Thanks!

Hi, do this company provide supervising/collaborative physician. OR is the NP able to do this kind of job without a supervising physician? Thanks in advance.

I'm seriously considering one of these jobs while I'm looking for something more permanent, or I may start doing locums for awhile to travel the country with this as my first placement. They are offering $140 in OR with a sign on bonus of $1000 for the company I'm considering, I have seen as low as $50 per hour.

I'm at a crossroads in my life, I have about one year of experience at a community health center that ended up being a disastrous place to work, and I am currently going through a major break-up (3 year relationship, we were engaged but the longer we were together the less it seemed to work). We're still living together (amicably but it's awkward) so you can imagine how I would be desperate to grab something quick :)

Well with some of the companies you might find it is not something quick. Three levels of interviews; 3 days of training, paperwork, etc. It can take almost 2 months to onboard. It is a great job and can be very rewarding while offering up some relief from the 9-6 grind.

Eek, I guess I'll add that to my list of questions to ask the recruiter.

Not to pry to much, and I'm not sure if this was addressed elsewhere but, what region do you live in? Is the salary comparable to half the national average? Thank you so much for all of your insight!!

Can you also pls PM me the company & your location? Pro & con? Thank you so much for your kindness. I have small kids so the ability to have a flexible schedule to pick up & drop off sound wonderful.

Can you pm me where you are working? Thank you in advance!!

Yes ! I am still doing them and actually quit family practice this year to do this on a part-time salaried basis. For me, at this moment in life, it is a great fit and the pay is good as well. I enjoy the people I see and feel the work is rewarding. The best part for me is I can absolutely 100% make my own schedule and the benefits are great as well. My teenager is loving the fact that I am home every afternoon with her and I also have time to volunteer in the community and spend more time with my elderly mom... I feel like I am getting part of my life back. I am not sure I will do this for the next 10-15 years, but for right now it is a good move that fits my family well.

I'm sorry I meant to post here! Can you pm me where you are working? Thank you!

Specializes in Med-Surg/ ER/ homecare.

I just wanted to say: I am an RN who is looking to get my NP, and I have worked home care for 3 years, mostly post surgical. Some of the hourly rates I have seen on here are insulting for an NP. I have made 70 per visit as an associates prepared RN, so any company offering an NP 85 is completely out of their mind. I woild look elsewhere as an NP.

Hi All

I would like to work as Home health NP. I would like to do only for weekend. I have received offer from one company. They offer $65 per visit as independent contractor for only saturday per week. No benefits. They pay 54 cent per mile.

How is Home health NP pay per visit rate in Chicago?

1. This string of posts is about in-home Medicare Advantage wellness visits...not home health which seems to be what you are referring to.

2. $65 a visit is insanely low. Never in a million years would I do wellness visits for that low of amount and if I was doing ongoing NP care (prescribing, actively treating, etc.) I would require even more.
