In-home NP Medicare Assessments

Published

I have seen several job postings for these type of positions. I am interested in the position because it sounds like there is a good amount of flexibility.

Does anyone have experience doing them? What exactly does the visit entail? Did you enjoy it? What did you think of the salary? Thanks!

Specializes in Palliative Care.

Omg, I lasted hardly 2 months doing these assessments with MedXM PRN. Yes, you are an independent contractor. Pay is $100/visit, and mileage is only paid when you exceed 50 miles/day. Scheduling was the worst! My patients would be so far spread out, or I'd only have 1-2 visits a day that were 30-40 miles away. With the wear and tear on my car and the extra tax liability, I couldn't justify working for them. My whole experience with this company was a HOT mess! Now, I work in a nice weight loss/aesthetics clinic PRN that is 5 minutes away from my house ?

Specializes in Psychiatry.

Just a quick question, do they have positions that focus on psych evals and assessments too? Or are these jobs mainly focused on regular medical conditions? I am in school to be a Psych NP in Boston and I am really interested in doing this when I graduate.

These positions mainly focus on medical conditions. I work with several companies and the job description state Nurse Practitioner it's specific so you may be able to gain work.

Goldenfox, please can you PM me. I'm actually at the process of going this route. Thanks
