I have seen several job postings for these type of positions. I am interested in the position because it sounds like there is a good amount of flexibility.
Does anyone have experience doing them? What exactly does the visit entail? Did you enjoy it? What did you think of the salary? Thanks!
Yes ! I am still doing them and actually quit family practice this year to do this on a part-time salaried basis. For me, at this moment in life, it is a great fit and the pay is good as well. I enjoy the people I see and feel the work is rewarding. The best part for me is I can absolutely 100% make my own schedule and the benefits are great as well. My teenager is loving the fact that I am home every afternoon with her and I also have time to volunteer in the community and spend more time with my elderly mom... I feel like I am getting part of my life back. I am not sure I will do this for the next 10-15 years, but for right now it is a good move that fits my family well.
I would love to do this job but I just think that I need to excel in the clinic environment first. But if I were offered such a job I'd jump on the bandwagon pretty daggone quick.....We have been around and sacrifced for 100 years or more. Isn't it time we get paid for our services? Some places accept new graduates and train them to do assessments. I am just waiting to pass my test before submitting for a job in this area. From what I understand the need will grow !!!!
I'm happy to see a resurgence of this thread. I start my Medicare assessment job next Wednesday. From what I've read here I'm getting a pretty good rate per assessment and can't wait to get started.
The schedulers for my company verified that I'm able to work any day I choose, up to 7 assessments per day, with a minimum of 25 per week. I plan on getting the system down and then ramping up and trying to see at minimum 30 patients per week. I've got an awful lot of bills to pay and I see this job as helping me with that. It's a blessing for what I need in life right now.
I'll be sure to keep ya'll updated on the job after I start next week!
I know this thread is a couple years old, but I stumbled across it researching reimbursement for these visits. I just joined this site, so can't pm, but are you still doing these assessments? And are you willing to share what company you worked for? Looking to leave the 9-5 office grind/lab follow ups etc. Thanks!

DesignerNP,
I'm also starting my Medicare assessment job in the next couple of weeks. Have you started training yet?

Cecej435,
I don't start until this upcoming Wednesday with my actual first day starting next Saturday.
What's the 411 on your Medicare assessment gig? F/T, P/T, bennies, etc?

Hi carachel2,
I know it has been a couple of years since this thread but I am wondering about an update. Are you still doing assessments and has it brought the supplemental income that you had forecasted?
Thanks
