Any NPs currently or gave done in home assessments? If so any pros and cons and how did they pay? Hourly or per assessment?

Hi I was moved along to interview with the onboarding clinical recruiter that was supposed to take place today but the recruiter did not successfully submit me. So after speaking with her and waiting all day she admitted she made a mistake and now I'm scheduled for interview #2 on Tuesday. This has been the longest process as far as interviewing goes I have been through and Ive been through the VA process and we all know that can be long lol.

Let me know how it goes on Tuesday!

Hang in there! It is a huge company and they definitely do this in a professional way. I've heard the VA can take 6 months and I assure you that won't happen!

Steffyh or carachel2,

Was as all of your training online or did they fly you somewhere to train you? Do you feel like they have prepared you well? I understand that these position are to do assessments but what exactly are these for? Can anyone explain? I'm thinking about applying for a per firm position for united health group, just wanted to find out a little more if possible. I have been working an an NP for 1 1/2 years and looking for something extra. I see that your training isn't until this weekend, let me know how it goes!

Thank you!!

You can message me with questions !

Thank you!!

I'm starting this weekend w/ virtual (online) training, but as w/ any new job you get some nervous jitters until you're out on your own. I've already contacted another NP who works w/ the company (paired up by my manager) to do a mentor ride along before I'm out and on my own, just to ask some questions and see the flow. I don't need to do it, but I just want to have someone as my colleague I can turn to if I need it.

I would apply for the position ASAP. They posted positions in my state and they were eaten up fast. It's no secret (or maybe it is) that this job pays well (almost double my hourly rate per assessment, then there's an hourly rate you get when you're not seeing patients, and you also get milage which is $0.57/mile). So for me if I see aboutr 7-8 patients/day I'll earn about $200-300 more/day than I do w/ my FT gig. This will be a nice extra income for straighforward work and very little take home. I'm excited and will keep you posted. Feel free to PM me too!

I thought I had posted a comment but I don't see it? I wanted to say thank you for your responses carachel2 and steffyh. I've been playing phone tag with a recruiter to discuss this position doing in home assessments. Have you started yet steffyh? If so, how do you like it?

I am in the interview process as well with UHG to work per diem in addition to my FT job. I have had three interviews so far. One more to go tomorrow so we will see how it goes!
