Important Vermont question. Please help me...

Hello everyone especially Suzanne. Please help me.... I just found out via the VERMONT Website that my application has been approved and I am allowed by Vermont to sit for the exam. What should I do next? My sister who is a nurse in the US said that I won't be able to register with Pearson yet without a number coming from Vermont. Will Vermont send me a notification letter via snail mail or via email? And should I wait for that notification from Vermont before I register with Pearson ( since I don't have that number yet that my sister told me about )? Please enlighten me. Thank you very much.

Pearson will email or post your ATT depending on whatever you request when you register with them.

Hi, VT will send a letter with a confirmation card which has a number in it that is needed when you register with pearson, they will ask for it. You will return the card to VT when you have registered with pearson ( you have to complete the bottom portion of the card) and are ready to be made eligible to test. Once VT receive the white card, they will make you eligible to get your att and that's when the 90 days begin.

You can register now in Pearsonvue after w/c you will be given a Candidate ID number. This will be the number that you're gonna write on the white postcard that VT BON will send you. You will mail that card back to the BON with your assigned Candidate ID number. Once they receive it, they will make you eligible (you can see from the website) and Pearsonvue will send you via email your ATT. The date that you will see on the website will be the start of the 90-day countdown.

My advice is if you are not ready to take the exam in a month or two, don't register yet. This is especially true if you want to take your exam in HK where scheduling can take your time from studying as there are limited slots. :wink2:

how long is the usual wait for the confirmation letter from vermont BON once approved to take the exam? is this letter sent by regular postal mail?

also, do they make one eligible on the day that they receive the confirmation letter or will it take more weeks or months?

VT sends the white postcard by snail mail, so you will receive it 2 weeks after.

If you already have the Pearsonvue Candidate ID number by registering earlier, you can immediately send the white card back to VT BON. If you use a courier, in less than a week, you should receive your ATT via email from Pearsonvue. I got mine 5 days after I sent back the card to VT via Fedex.

The standard procedure is returning the white card. My friend saved more time and mailing by calling VT and informing them the details needed in the white card. You can try it.

I myself sent email giving details of my Pearsonvue registration to save money and time. I also called VT and tried giving the details. VT still wants the white card back before they will give the go to Pearsonvue to issue the ATT. They were firm about this.

Maybe the one she talked to was not so strict about the white card. She passed nclex last month and her white card is still here right in front of me on her corkboard. For others, follow the standard though. It was just a suggestion.

Well, I wished that I have been that lucky. Imagine the amount of money nurses would have saved if spared from returning that white card. There must be hundreds of Filipino applicants in VT! FedEx staff found it real weird that I have to spend a thousand bucks just for that tiny card. :wink2:

please i need help.

im a registered nurse planning to have my NCLEX in the state of VErmont

i almost accomplished all the needed requirements for my NCLEX in vermont. my only problem is that, i dont know how to answer the question regarding child support. the question goes like these:

1. Am i subject to pay child support? yes or no?

2. i am in full compliance with a plan to pay any and all child support in the state of vermont? yes or no?

and my other problem is that, regarding my work experience,

there is a certain part of the application regarding nuring practice:

the first one is (50 days or 400 hours in the past 2 years) and the other one (120 days or 960 hours in the past 5 years)

what will i checked???

does these question referring to my work experience as a nurse or my Related learning experience when i was in college.

i presently employed in a private hospital in the philippines, 've been working there for almost 3 months..

please i need your help..

You can encircle No to #1 qx about child support, then proceed to qx#3 as directed in the form. Encircle yes to qx #3 and #4.

The form is also asking about your post-grad/employment hx not your RLE. You can put N/A to both 120/50 days. Place your employer's name and the date of your employment below. VT BON will understand from the dates that you're newly hired.

For security reasons, I suggest that you delete your email address from your original post.
