I'm waiting

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hey everyone! I've been a pre-nursing student for over a year now and am waiting for hopefully an acceptance letter for this fall! It seems like school went by fast but these few weeks waiting are dragging!

Specializes in Primary Care; Child Advocacy; Child Abuse; ED.

I want to go to a acrn adult critical care NP program and they require a year experience and they don't require bsn. But while I am working I will complete my bsn. Good luck! My fingers are crossed for you!!!!! Yeah I was lucky I only wanted to go to Cox! I am sure I will see you at sometime! I can't wait to hear you received your acceptance letter also!!!!!

I will hear something by the end of March. I'm counting down the days:)

Online philosophy, yuck!

I'm taking online philosophy too and I feel like I'm flying by the seat of my pants. I'm doing well but I think I'd get a lot more out of it in a classroom setting.

To the OP waiting, I think, is the hardest part. You've put everything you have into your pre reqs and all you can do is sit and wait. That feeling is the worst. Good luck!

I got so busy with classes during midterms I forgot to post...I got in to both of the schools I applied to!:yeah: Yay! I am so happy and grateful! I have decided to go to Cox because it will be a bit quicker to get my BSN there.

@camwill - See you there I am still waiting to get my confirmation letter (after drug screen, background check, etc.) I wish they would send it because I don't want to turn down St. John's until I know 100% that I will be at Cox. Not that there will be a problem ;) but I have had identity theft twice before. I keep thinking of those commercials where the lady does a background check on herself and finds out she's an armed criminal -lol  I called Cox and they said it would take up to 6 weeks to send the letter because they need to make their summer schedule first. Not sure why, since we start in Fall. Congrats to you again! I am so excited!! I wonder if we will have classes together?

@pinkcupcake - yes, I totally agree with you about online philosophy. I am getting it done and doing well, but, without lecture, I am just grasping at straws on some of these concepts. I think I would have gotten WAY more out of a seated course. My instructor had us write an extensive paper and we could only use original writings for research. I like Aristotle, but I was going crazy trying to understand what the heck he was saying without an interpretation. I thought that was pretty ambitious (and by ambitious I mean nuts ;) of him to ask us to do that without any lecture. But, hey, its done now so onward and upward...Good luck with your class and I hope you get good news soon!

Good luck everyone!

Congrats to all of you!! Wow!! I can't wait til that's me!!! Im in my second semester of pre reqs. I'm putting all I have into making and containing good grades cause I know how competitive nursing school is. That scares me! Once again, CONGRATS!!! :)

Congrats to you!!! I am so happy to start also. We have to wait to get our adviser till fall schedule is done I heard. It is a long time from now. The background check is criminal, not credit based so you should be fine!!!! What do you have to do for st johns and I am sure I will see you around if I don't already see you in one of my classes now ^.^

I'm just now jumping into this thread, but I'm also playing the waiting game and am really getting impatient now. I submitted my application to the school in September, but was still in the midst of finishing up 2 of the 3 science prerequisites they needed in order to make a final decision. My application was "held for further grades" and they asked me to send an updated transcript after the Fall semester. Well, I have submitted TWO updated transcripts since then and I still haven't heard anything. I'm so happy for everyone on here who has been getting acceptance letters, and really hope that I'll be able to join in the celebration soon with my own acceptance! Good luck to those still waiting to hear back!

I'm rather new to this site, but I'm waiting for my letter as well! I should have it in the next three weeks, I can't wait to see if I got in! I'm starting pre-reqs over the summer and trying for September 2013 for nursing! =]

good luck, hang in there!

Hi Everyone,

I'm waiting on a letter too. I should know in 4-6 long weeks! Good luck to everyone!

I am also waiting for a couple of letters. It's an excruciating wait!!!

Hi Camwill,

Got my letter with my nursing adviser yesterday. Now it feels real :) I hated turning down St. Johns without having my confirmation letter. Cox already miscalculated my credits 2x so I just wanted to know everything was good. Can't wait to start in the fall. Which Basic Life Support program are you going to do? I wonder if the online course will be just as informative as the seated course. Hope to see you at school!

To everyone waiting, I know that it can seem like a lifetime...I hope you all get good news soon!
