Oh I am just so excited. I had an interview with my town Nursing Home today at 2pm and i was there till 2:07! I was so nervous, but she sat me down and said, "ok, I want to hire you!". She didn't really even ask many questions! Just questions about me, like "are you going to school", "how about your previous work". I was shocked! She mentioned how amazing I was with my grandmother who recently passed away, and said she knew then that she wanted to hire me someday. Needless to say, she hired me! On the SPOT! Im so excited (a little nervous though) to start! Our town has recently just built a new building for the nursing home. It is absolutely beautiful! It looks like something out of a magazine, really! OK well enough rambling, lol.. thank you to all of you wonderful STNAs, CNAs, RNs, LPNs, and anyone who ever posted anything helpful or supportive on here!

Congratulations to you!! I'm from Ohio too, around where are you from to have a new nursing home? I'm about an hour north of Columbus, 30 minutes from Marion. I think Marion has a newer nursing home too. They sure do make them look like home now..that's a big plus for residents.
Good luck!
hey... I live in the very northwest part of Ohio (Paulding). Its a VERY small town, cozy... :0)

Congratulations! I am very excited for you. I am just finishing up LPN School, and I was surprised to learn I really liked working with Geriatric clients. You can become very attached very quickly. Just remember that you are working with people, and work with heart....you will do wonderfully. A good CNA is worth her/his weight in gold!! Again, Congrats!!
