I took an offer, but I'm scared of physical exam. Can they disqualify me because I had a hip surgery 18 months ago?
I don't have any physical problems, only that I can't jump and run but I'm fine.
sometimes I limp but I don't have a pain.
Please help.
you have gotten some great advice from the above posters. I have to say at my pre employment physical...well lets just say if there was anything wrong with me they wouldnt have found out from that physical...it was seriously...can you lift your leg...move your arms..vitals...thats it. Im sure you will be fine. As long as it doesn timpact you doing your job it shouldnt matter.
nurse with one kidney
hi! i'm from philippines. i'm thinking of donating my kidney to my mom.
but before i proceed to final decision, is it fine or will there be problems during the medical/physical exam? i'm still on packet 2 processing.
do i need to disclose or inform the assigned physician/hospital that will conduct examination about having one kidney?
i'm afraid the agency will terminate the contract and stop the processing of my application.
suggestions and opinions will be highly appreciated. :-)

I am glad I read this thread. I just had my physical a couple days ago. I was worried because I have to see the doctor because I have exercise induced asthma and I may be required to wear a respirator. I also have an autoimmune disorder. I asked the advisor at my nursing school about these issues before I pursued nursing school and she assured me that as long as I don't have a problem with them that they wouldn't be a problem.
I think I am just worried because it is something to worry about. I am a mess over studying for the NCLEX and I got my dream job before I graduated. Things normally don't come easy to me, so I am kind of waiting for the other foot to drop.
Thanks for the reassurance.
