No need to take the PI board exam unless you want to practice nursing in PI or middle east. Take your NCLEX instead. Best of Luck!:welcome:

yep yep!! You don't need to take the local board exam. And from my understanding of PRC's rules, you can't take the exam unless you are a Filipino citizen. Before you go back to the States i think you should download the application form from their website. Assuming that you didn't take the CGFNS, you pass the "breakdown of transcripts" form to your school, for them to fill it up. Get your transcript and RLE record as well. Then have your school send all of it to Cali's BON. Since you don't have any license yet, I think the Cali BON is asking for an explanation..You check it out on their site..K? Hope that helped..:)

One good reason for not taking the Phil Board exams is because you do not intend to practice nursing in the Philippines.

You may wish to make multiple certified true copies of your transcripts (w/ RLE or clinicals) and diploma for personal use.

However, when applying for any CGFNS service or to a State that does it's own transcript evaluation you have to let your school fill-up the necessary forms and send the certified true copies of your transcripts (diploma not needed) to them. Most schools do not charge for any service, except for the courier service fee needed.

Don't forget to write a cover letter explaining why you don't have the a license from the country you graduated. The explanation posted above is a valid reason as well as you're not being a Filipino citizen.

Goodluck.

California does not require CGFNS services, and since you already are a US citizen you do not need to get a Visa Screen Certificate either.

But the issue that you do have is that CA takes about six months to approve your credentials to take the NCLEX exam........since you graduated out of the country, and will be considered a foreign grad to them. They do all of the credentials evaluations on their own.

The NCLEX-RN is the only exam that you need to prepare for............

Nothing else will be needed by you.

Suggest that you go for licensure in another state and then endorse to CA, it will be faster. But you cannot submit one document until you have a completed set of transcripts, so nothing is going to be instant for you.
