I'm Back!!

Nursing Students General Students

I posted back in October or November about being accused of cheating in my pathology class. Well, After 3 appeal hearings, I was suspended from the school. Ultimately they took the teachers word over mine.

I am still devastated about it, but I am trying to move on. With the help of a very close professor, I applied to another school and was accepted! They told me that because my grades for the entire length of my studies were excellent and that I had several student and teacher recommendations, they would give me one chance. So, next week I start back to school! It will be strange heading to another school, having to meet new teachers and students, but I feel good that my career is not over.

It has been very difficult for me these past few months....trying to prove that I am innocent. I've made some positive steps with the help of my family dr to make sure that I dont fall into a downward spiral. My family and friends have been so supportive and I consider myself one lucky duck to be given a second chance.

Anyway, wish me luck!!

So glad you got back in! I remember reading your saga last year, and it was awful how they treated you. Our syllabi also say that in cases of cheating both parties will receive the same punishment, but they have to catch you in the act. Try to put it behind you and move on, and I Wish you the best of luck at your new school!

You have handled this whole thing with maturity and dignity and I wish you the very best of luck.

My husband is always banging on about failure/disappointments/setbacks not being the thing that defines you. It's what you do next that defines you, and you have certainly put this whole business behind you and are moving on with your life. Good for you!

I'm glad that you are going to be able to get your degree from the other school, although it's still awful that someone else's bad choice made things so hard for you. I hope SHE was not able to get back into another program anywhere and is just SOL instead! I wish you the best with the new program!

Perserverence is the key! Take care and let us know how things are going. I'm glad you're back.

I am so happy to hear you are back. I was so sad for you. Your previous posts on the situation made me feel so helpless. I never think about another person cheating off me, and that other girl not only is stupid but she should suffer horrible bouts of conscience for lying and saying you were involved. I wish you all the luck and hope that never happens to you again. Take care. Jean

I'm so happy you got in somewhere else! I really felt for you when I read your original post about getting pulled aside. Hopefully a new enviroment is exactly what you need! Good luck!

good luck peanut ~ you should do just fine. keep your head-up & drive forward. and whatever you do, don't mention the other incident to anybody at your current school. none of them have a need to know about the other incident. i know you state you were innocent, but i'm afraid people tend to believe the side of your former university before believing your side. you don't need that gray cloud hanging over you ~

cheers ,

This is good news. I'm glad that everything worked out for you in the end even if it is at another school. I think it would have been worse for you if they would have let you back in and having to interact with the instructor that accused you cheating again. Just keep on your toes at the new school and you'll be fine.
