So I've been attending CCAC for 2 years now. My High School has sent them my transcripts 4 times. FOUR times! They still have somehow NOT received them. I have no idea where this problem is coming from, whether it's my high school or CCAC. My High School repeatedly states that they sent them. They even have all of the dates recorded when they sent them over the past couple years. They are repeating back to me the right address. They have even written my married name on them all four times.

Well now that I've finished prereqs, the nursing application is now due before March 1st and I'm stuck in limbo-land because CCAC doesn't have my high school transcripts. This is absolutely nuts. They told me that I can hand deliver them in a sealed envelope from my high school, but my high school will not give them to me that way.

What the hell do I do? I feel helpless and that all of my work is going to be for no reason because of this completely stupid technicality.

I have gone through my fair share of transcript / school admission issues. why wont the high school give it to you in a sealed envelope? have you tried having the college call your high school & tell them to give you a hard copy of the transcript? that seems very unfair that they won't give you the hard copy. Good Luck I hope your transcript goes through.

You could also supply your high school with a prepaid FedEx/UPS envelope, so that you'd have delivery confirmation that the college DID receive it, the date they received it, and the person who signed for it.

Are you under 18? Have your parent go there and demand a sealed copy of your transcript for you?

There are only two things I can think of, both being mentioned already.

Some how get your school to allow you to take the transcripts in a sealed envelope with some sort of tag, sticker, seal that will be very apparent should someone open the envelope or try to tamper with it.

I was going to suggest asking the school if you paid for a return recepit, confirmation of delivery by FedEx/UPS/USPS overnight delivery if they would be willing to do that.

I had a similar situation that you have. My college transcripts from another college had been several times, and each and every time my college stated they hadn't recieved it yet. However the school that was sending the transcripts also allowed for an official transcript to be sent to the students home address. It was in a sealed, stamped envelope that would show if it had previously been opened or tampered with. When my school yet again claimed they hadn't gotten the transcripts I whipped out my offical copy of transcripts. What was funny was, when I had to do something that required my 'file' later that day, the person at the college said, "gee, I guess you forgot you had requested your transcript or you really wanted to make sure we got them, we have 4 copies here" Yup, they had them the whole time!

Welcome to CCAC. I just started 102 and this behavior seems to be very typical of them. I do feel we are learning a lot and being prepared for the profession, but they are extremely unorganized. I had a similar problem with my high school transcripts and had to send them 2 or 3 times. I'm not sure how to help you (sorry!), but once they do finally get them I strongly recommend you make copies of everything they ask for. Perhaps your high school could send you an unofficial copy of your transcripts? That's what I did in case I needed them. Good luck to you, and sorry you're having such a rough time!

i had a problem simular to yours. i was trying to transfer credits to my current school but they (nursing school) never got the course description, even after numerous times of calling the first college who said they sent them. i finally gave up and said fate says i have to take this course again. before the start of the semester my classmates said your crazy. try again to get the course description sent so you dont have to waste 1000 dollars. so that night i went home, dug out my old transcripts, got the course name and number, went online to the college, found the course and course description, printed it out and gave it to the assistant dean in charge of that stuff and in 30 seconds was told i didnt have to take the course.

sometimes you have to do the legwork yourself. hope your situation works out soon and in your favor!

Omg. I went to the most incompetent community college ever. I had the same thing done with my transcripts and I got screwed over because of them. Ever since then, I either pick them up personally, or have them send my transcript to my house so I can send it all together with my application stuff as a huge packet. I've talked to a lot of recruiters and they actually prefer to have everything put together anyways. (Even for scholarship applications)
