There are 90 more letters going out this Monday
Hope I can reply here and say I got in

What is the letter of intent? And what does the letter say you need

yes, May 27th at 8am. I wanted to be there for the first one so I can have my teacher of choice since we are registering that day. The letter of intent is a letter that you have to mail back to them to let them know that you are going to attend the program and then you pick a date for your orientation, thats all.

I'm also in for Fall 09 nursing @ Truman College. I signed up for the evening 5/27/09 orientation. I wonder if i should switch to the day program instead of evening I signed up. I'm not sure if nursing dept. will let me change if I decided to switch. I still want to keep my job for the 1st semester and i think my boss could work it out for me so I can still kept my 40 hrs for my health insurance benefits. Any suggestions?

I dont see how your going to work 40 hours in the nursing program.I heard that they encourage the students to not work at all while in the nursing program!!! I have a full time job too but know that I need to change my hours because doing well in this program is more important to me then my job. It sucks because I NEED to work full time. I am going to try to still do 30 hours a week, but 40 is insane!! I dont know if they'll let you switch but might as well try and call them if you want to....

I've been doing that for couple of semesters, working 40+ hours and taking 1 class. I could handled it fine before but I'm not so sure with Nursing 101. I will try and if it's not working out, then I'll cut my work hours down to 30+. I just started my job as an CNA in the outpatient clinic. I like working there. I think the experience I'll gain from my job will help me with the nursing skills during clinical and better understanding of the lecture materials.

What is exactly an outpatient clinic and what do you do?

Out patient clinic is a medical facility usually within a hospital where patients (non emergency) come in for physician office visits, radiological procedures and etc. I'm a CNA and what I do is screen patients including taking pt history, vitals, and assist the physicians.

I just recieved my letter today and I cannot even believe I got in. I had almost given up hope that I would get in to nursing school. I also just accepted new position working nights and got in to the evening program so we'll see how it works out. Luckily I only have to take the core nursing classes, I have already completed all of the gen ed and prereqs. YEAH
