:yeah:Hey everyone, I just got my acceptance letter last week for Trumans program and am super excited!! I really want to meet people that got accepted as well!!! If you got your letter, post here!
re: mwjf's posting...... what was it like at Truman? I know that Truman doesn't focus on LPN after the first year of nursing, but is it possible to take the LPN test after the 1st year of nursing at Truman? Is there anyone who has ever attempted LPN exam that went to Truman? I've been excepted into both Wright's LPN Program & Truman's Program and was almost considering accepting Wright's LPN just so I could hurry up & graduate in 1 year as an LPN. Anyone know if you can do this at Truman?
I am almost positive that you cannot do that. Truman offers an LPN bridge program but does not let you take the exam after the first year. I think you should go to Truman because they have an amazing program and if you want to be an RN and already got in then why not. I go to wright for my prerequisites right now and know alot of people in the LPN program, they say that it is pretty unorganized and it is a FULL TIME program meaning Monday-Friday 8-3ish. I start at Truman in the Fall.
thanks (gonnabeanurse11). i guess i'm just getting cold feet. now that i'm in the program i'm getting nervous. i'm finishing up my microbiology at wright this spring and i'll be at truman for the fall also. i signed up for the may orientation, it's coming up pretty fast.
thanks for your reply to my post, i feel a little bit more at ease. good luck to you!
will you be in the day or evening program this fall?

I am taking Micro this semester at Wright too, I just left class with Herzog. Are you in my class?? Ha thats funny. I am going to Orientation on May 27th, I will be in the day program. I am super excited about it!!
I'm also taking Microbio this semester, but at Truman. How was your Microbio at Wright? I took one semester at Wright College, but I have to say, I like the Truman Science dept more due to greater selection and real nice science faculties. I'm nervous about starting the nursing program this fall. I'm going for evening orientation in May. How about your guys?

Wright has an amazing science department. My Micro teacher is one of the heads of the department. I never toook a class at Truman yet so I cant compare though. I definetly think Wright is the nicest CCC overall though. I am super excited about the nursing program and already bought a stethascope and a bunch of "preparing for nursing school" books! I have morning orientation in May.
Wow, that is so cool that you bought a stethascope! I'm going to go buy one too now!!! I hadn't thought about any preparation books on nursing school, glad you wrote that cause I'm shopping for that this weekend too! Good luck to you in the program and with Prof. Herzog's class.
Did you bring a computer to class everyday??? Or were you sitting in the second row with glasses and dark brown hair always talking to the blonde girl in polish..lol. I know one of those people had to be you....I am sooooo glad that class is over, I thought his tests were so hard it was rediculous!!!! I agree though, I think he is a great teacher, he just demands alot, which I appreciate.
Hi gonnabeanurse11,
No, I sat in the 2nd row (2nd to the right) on the opposite side of where the lab assistant worked (in the back room). Anyway....I need your advise....I've been accepted into both Truman's & Wright's (LPN) program and (pls don't say i'm nuts to not know what to do) I don't know which one to go to. With Wright's, I can work in 1 yr (provided I pass) and since Truman doesn't offer the LPN (which I think is nuts!) I can't work for 2 years. The economy's so bad, I'm not sure I can last for 2 yrs. The problem is, Since Wright just started their bridging of LPN students into their RN program, I'm afraid since the program is so new, it may not be the greatest to get one prepared to take the NCLEX. I certainly don't want to throw away the opportunity to Truman because I have read so many awesome things about their program. What do you think? Hope to hear from you soon!

Oh, I know who you are, you asked the teacher about aquiring allergies later in life on the second to last day..lol. I sat right behind you at #8 with Erin!! I think that if I were you, I would take the opportunity to go to Truman as opposed to going to Wright because I would be worried that I wouldnt be guaranteed entrance into an RN program when I finished. And you can work! You can get a job as a student nurse(intern) at any of the resurrection facilities in the city after you complete one semester of the program. Once you complete one semester, you can be hired as a CNA without actually being one or as a student nurse. If you are a student, you get paid more the a CNA, I think they start at about $15 an hour. I also dont know if Wright is to be trusted for the NCLEX either, and Im sure they are not accredited yet. Truman has an amazing pass rate and I feel completely confident that I will be prepared to pass if I go there. Just my opinion....
