If I apply for Licensure by Examination for a specific state, can I change it?

I will be taking the Nclex this September or October and to save time (since I plan to move) I was thinking about applying for licensure by examination with the state I want to move to now as it takes 10-12 weeks for them to approve me. My question is, if I apply and get approved to get a license out of the state I currently live in, can I change my mind before I take the NCLEX and just get licensure for the state I currently live in? I'm thinking of moving from TX to CA and CA BON is taking a long time to get back to me on this matter. If I just get a TX license and then apply for licensure by endorsement for CA, wont I have to wait atleast 10-12 weeks before I am approved and can begin work in CA?

Thank you (:

You have to go through the application process all over again if you want to get a license in a different state than the one that granted the ATT. Their BON, their rules. If you've already paid the fees to your current state they aren't going to give them back and they aren't going to send them to the new state either. You reapply, get a new ATT, and pay the new fees.

No you can't. You can only apply to one state at a time for licensure by exam. You complete an application with a state BON and your school has to send all of their paperwork to the BON that you applied to. Once your application is completed and accepted, the BON sends you your ATT (only good for that state license). Pearson sends the results to the BON that approved you to take the test. Each state has their own conditions that you must fulfill to be licensed in their state. You can't get approved to test by one state and then expect another state to issue a license without them approving you to test.
