If your hospital changes names...

Just curious. I've been sending out my resume, I'm not 100% sure that I'll be changing jobs but seeing what is out there. I worked for 5 years at a hospital that changed its name after I left. Seems to be a trend with hospitals in my city. The name change wasn't drastic (actually it was pretty stupid) and everyone knows what hospital it is regardless of how the name is presented but, just wondering, what is the appropriate way to list it on one's resume? I have it listed as the name it had when I worked there.

I don't know the official answer from a human resources standpoint but I've worked at several places who've changed names, been bought out by another organization, or have closed. Even my nursing program changed names years after my graduation.

I always put the name and address of the place as it was when I worked/went to school there. That's where old W2s said I worked and where my diploma said I graduated.

I think I would list it as New name (formerly Old name) just so it doesn't look like you haven't updated your resume since the name change.

This was a matter of the hospital changing where the name of the city went in its name. It was previously "Children's Hospital City" and is now "City Children's Hospital." I think it would look kind of foolish and redundant to put both.
