Um...there's an ER nurses week? Ideas for what? You mean something to give the nurses or a party or something? What's your budget?

Check the ENA website, there are plenty of ideas. But to make it special have a specific compliment for each and every staff member to go along with the gift. (don't forget the CNA's and LPN's) Then put it in writing and include a cc: to the VP of nursing with a copy in their personel folder. Then make a group announcement that you as a manager will back them up 365 days a year and do it. You could give out toothpicks and be a hero ! (TIC)

Hi there! I'm new to this site - when is ER nurse week? we don't have this in England but might be nice to celebrate it!

ER nurses week starts October 8 (I think) this year.

I am a NP in the ER. I will be buying lunch for both shifts one day that week and encouraging others to do the same. I hope we can feed the staff nurses that make us look good all week.

Also, on the days I work that week, I will do everything in my power to be sure they have time to enjoy that lunch. I can't sign out meds from the machine, but I can do everything else whilst the staff nurses have a chance to eat.

It retails for 21.95, but if you call Lippincott, williams and Wilkins, they will give you 20% off and free shipping. For 100 pocketguides it cost $1700. We are asking the MD's to pay for them.
