ICHS 2022

Updated:   Published

Hello! Is there anybody who will be attending International College of Health Sciences (ICHS) in Florida in 2022?

To be honest, I’m just sharing what I have researched on my own & found through former students & current students. It seems we all know different info so I’m only sharing what I’ve been told and have found out on my own. Either way, I’m going to do the program & I’m going to be an RN. I’m happy to be officially enrolled and one step closer to my goal. I’m already a nurse so the issue with clinicals not being as consistent as a traditional RN program I don’t mind much due to me already being a nurse in the field. I’ve done 13 hr clinicals. I work 12-16 hr days.
For those that are only coming with pre reqs, it may be a huge adjustment. The previous poster that attends made a great point on alot of things, especially integrity of students.

I’m sorry you must be misinformed, I have ppl I know that attend and they haven’t gone at all. My cousin is also in 2nd semester and hasn’t gone yet. So I’m not sure where you got that from. Availability is based on what they have at the moment, and first come first serve basis. When they open the slots you have to get them while they are available.

The reps are telling students it’s back to normal,

but there’s still a delay. Just not COVID related as I mentioned in my earlier post. Even the previous poster stated they haven’t gone yet either. My co worker also is attending and takes her finals this week. She hasn’t gone once yet. Taking exit soon. Graduates in Jan.

I know some haven't went and I got that informatio  from the Enrollment Advisors when I asked a question about this Clinical situation that is being talked about because I wish to know how I should plan to do my first clinical.

I was told that there are plenty of clinical dates and sites and students are not submitting their schedules in a timely manner which causes the delay.

I was told definitely there will be no more pushing clinicals to the end of the program.

I was also told we have to do 10 days the first semester, 14 days the 2nd, 16 days the 3rd and 21 days the 4th semester and that we had to conduct our clinicals prior to the end of the semester or we don't move forward. I was then given the clinical power point to go over.

So I guess the Staff is lying about clinicals and only the students know what is happening.

Thats all confusing.

I know people on the program who are graduating. No mention on not getting clinicals. Don't know what is really going on at this point.

Yes, I have the same info you have but extra because I’m not relying on the reps of the school. I’m relying more on actual students that are actively enrolled or almost done with the program.

it is very confusing but I still have faith we will do well ? I wouldn’t say they’re lying. I find out things from finance, from my rep and from the info given and it all varies what’s said. So I’m gonna take the advice given & just roll with it! Ride the wave and give it my best.

Hopefully they will get it together.

Ask as many questions as you can from co workers & also keep in touch with the ppl you know that are enrolled in ICHS. I find out way more from them than the school & so far it’s been helpful.

Im hoping they get it together & they probably are moving in a better direction with additional rules being added for incoming students. We can only hope for the best! I wish you nothing but the best & you know where to find me if you want to chat.

Are you testing out as an LVN?

The school doesn't provide study material but folks are just using whatever they have personally for Fund and Pharm.

The school staff stated they are testing by knowledge of the LVN so they won't tell you what's being tested or give any material.

Folks are just buying different kinds of Pharm textbook and Fundamentals textbook or studybooks to study.

Any Pharmacology and Fundamentals book you can get should be good. Folks are chosing their own to study.  Most only pass Fundamentals. There is really no specific. Everyone is getting whatever they pick to buy.

The school has no specific either. They don't use study materials for the APA.

I have to be honest, I have a family member enrolled, 2 co-workers attending currently in different semester of the program & myself am currently enrolled to start soon.

None of the ppl I have spoken to about this program have said it was a walk in the park. It’s not expected to be, it’s nursing school, it’s online & let’s be honest. Ppl cheat and it makes rules more stringent on others. That’s a given and nothing that we can do about it. If you know what rejection feels like, then that’s maybe what lead you to ICHS. CA schools are exceedingly competitive/hard to get into for this career path. This is why this school continues to be successful for out of state students.

I personally have good study habits, I am a LPN already & I have faith that regardless of the negative comments that continue to be left, I am doing what’s best for me. I can’t speak for anyone else nor will I tell anyone what to do because something is not working for them. I do understand everyone has had different experiences…trust me, I‘ve heard just about every negative thing that’s been posted or said behind the scenes on and off allnurses forum.

I also know a few ppl who have graduated as well & are happily employed RNs some even moving on to their BSN.

In conclusion, being proactive, networking with current/former ICHS students/alumni & understanding the workload that’s expected from us before hand will get us through. I do know they start with a lot of ppl and they lose a lot of ppl. Same thing happened in my LVN program.

Ppl talked negatively about my LVN program on Yelp, still do. But I became a LVN, finished the top of my class with the Florence Nightingale award & overcame the negativity. It’s not the school that counts, it’s the students. Long as they aren’t in hot water with the FL or CA BON, meeting CA requirements for reciprocity to become RN, and allowing us to sit for NCLEX? I’m totally OK with that.

This is just my opinion, I am in no way tryna tussle.

Good Luck to you; you'll need it.
