Thank you

But are they able to practice in California after they graduate? I feel like I need to prep myself if I need to take the NCLEX twice

Yes, you fill out Cali app and Florida sends the transcripts and everything. You can do the NCLEX in California. Once that is passed then you can get your license. You need to ask these questions at the California board of nursing . Most likely on their website .

good luck!

@amyrose1214I am currently enrolled in ICHS, just finished my second semester. While it is true that they are disorganized and seem to be "Learning as they go" which can be very frustrating. Esp now with all the covid restrictions. I have found that the didactic instructors are good and we do have weekly class Zoom meetings, though some of the instructors are better than others and they too seem to be disorganized. The clinicals are less impressive but they will get you the hours you need to graduate...you will have a lot to learn when you start to work. Like @krisdew2 says at the end end of the day if you have a goal keep you focus on that goal and you will get through, you just have to let some stuff "roll off your back". The program is not perfect but it seems to get the job done. As far as I know it is the only program that offers the AS degree on line. I do not know I will stay at ICHS for the BS or FNP, but for now the AS program seems to be getting me one step closer to my goal.

Hello,  I have a quick question.  Did you by chance take pharmacology at ichs?  If so, what were the midterm and final like?  She stated we wouldn’t get a study guide.  So needless to say that threw me back a bit.  Just curious on how I should study for these tests.   Thank you in advance   If you could email me, I’d greatly appreciate it. [email protected]

Thank you @vegasrn2fnp. I finished fundamentals, now I'm in pharmacology the 15 weeks semester. Last term I started the accelerated semester but had to withdraw from Pharm, cause I had foot surgery, it was too much. I'm glad I did. Now I will finish this semester in early janurary then back to the normal 2 classes . Thank you for your input and advice. I have loved my professors, and yeah I don't think there is any school that doesn't get disorganized as some point. For the most part they have been very good and flexible with me.

Matthew,
As for the exams in Pharm study the ATI practice and your lessons. However I heard they may not do the ATI this term, from what my prof said. Last term class looked different, in some ways, but sherpath is what they seem to be using so study that and the book.  Best of luck !

Hello,

I'm an LVN living and working in California. How long is the program for LVNs? How much does it cost? I get the impression that financial aid isn't available. How often do you have to fly in for clinicals? Also, I do realize that this school is kind of crappy but it's a means to an end, right? I've been trying to bridge for 7 years and I'm at the end of my rope.

I will say this again and again, I can't recommend anyone to ICHS, I don't care the changes or improvement they have made, nothing new. ICHS is the worst school ever, no structure and nothing good. All about the money

Again, I will say it and emphasize it. ICHS is the worst school ever, there is nothing good from there, even after graduation, you still struggle to teach your self things you didn't learn. You struggle with NCLEX and everything else, from transcripts request to your own certification,  it's all a struggle. There are so many great schools there online where, a person can learn better than ICHS. You pay all the huge money for ICHS and don't even do a hospital clinicals but, just nursing homes rotations. All the equipment we learn in nursing school is only theory but, never applied through clinicals because, ICHS is all about the money and always threatening students. Everyday is different teacher or dean. Nursing school should be about teaching and learning. I don't care about the just getting a license issue, the struggle to NCLEX is too much to just waste money and time at ICHS when, there are so many great online programs. I had a friends who went to  good schools and took NCLEX in 3 weeks after they were done. Most people that go to ICHS take about 3 or 6 months to get NCLEX because, they had to teach themselves all over and prepare for NCLEX.

Again, I am saying it that, ICHS is the worst school ever. I finished in 2018/2019 which is not too long ago and still know people that are stock in that school. Also, if you are a minority like me, be aware of bigtime racism and scam at ICHS. Do you guys know that, they use to give minority students harder Exit exams so, they can keep failing and paying more why, non minority took easy exit exams? ICHS is all scam and I will say it without hesitation. I am not scared of any one from there, I am just saying the truth. Worst school ever.

I appreciate what you are saying. I really do. I am literally just going there to get the license. I’m already a nurse and have been for seven years. My Lvn school was terrible, and I was able to pass NCLEX first try. I’m really sorry you had a horrible experience with them.

Now, anyone can decide what they want to do but, I am just giving my thoughts based on experience. Everyone has to make their own choice.

It is good that you just want the license which is, peculiar to so many students but, you have to think if, you will just get that license easily like you think at ICHS. Sometimes people don't easily get out of ICHS quickly due to their exit exams of which, they do intentionally to keep people around. There are people that have been there for over 3 years and still there because, they can't pass exit. I think you should inquire more about exit exams at ICHS because, your finishing from their school will be based on you passing exit exams. Anyway, have a great day.

I totally agree with IJEOMA12. I am currently in 2nd semester and let me tell you about this school. It is the worst of worst. I thought my lvn school was the worst but this school tops that. They r not just about making money but actually torturing students. The staff is so terrible. It's funny how majority of the staff are considered minority and yet they are racist towards the student LOL. Good luck, calling them and emailing them about issues. You ll be luckiest one if you ever get reply back. If you are a new student, they will pamper you in the beginning amd once you are enrolled, I highly doubt they will responde to you if you have questions. Yes they are after your moneya and once you are in the school, they will purposefully create a problem with your account/records and cause an issue. If they make a mistake, they will blame it on you. And if you don't fix it on time, you are already behind. IJEOMA12 is right, their are people who have been stuck in the shool. In the end, its your decision where you wanna get your RN. Some LVNs are desperate to be RN so they take advantage of that. Most of us have a chance of completing this school but if you do decide to go with this school just pray you don't become their target. I am stuck with this school and they ve given me such a hard time and I am learning on my own and still worried about the exit exam. Please seek a different online school if theres any, this school should be your last resort and still you should be cautious. The staff will change their statement anytime throughout the program. don't fall for their lies! There were some people who warned me about this school but I didn't listen because I was desperate just like you guys. Please think 100x before you apply here. There are much better schools out there.
