Thank you

Thanks so much Ben for responding, it saves a lot of people from the headache. ICHS will do all they can to lure people and, some fall for it in the name of desperation. It is the worst school ever, it's even better to move to some state and gain a nursing license then ICHS. The fights you have to go through, the struggle,  the everyday negativity, even when you go to clinicals late at times, they send you home or right you up. Sometimes, they try to kick you out of the program because, of their wickedness. No learning just, living in fear and anxiety. People had to even withdraw at times just because, they couldn't continue with the headache. All you get is slides as lectures, no video lecture, no thing but, they expect you to know everything at clinicals of which, is done only in nursing homes. You had to even worry about passing exit exam or, you are stuck with them. Who wants to go through that. In fact, because of covid,  there are so many great online nursing schools. The minority instructors (Jamaicans) that are there do the worst towards Minority especially, towards Africans. I have said it in the past, I can't recommend to anyone. Anyone going there should keep hoping things favor them because, most of the staff are just mean and don't care.

look into these schools-

Some have residency requirements . Get creative!! MAKE IT WORK FOR YOU!! Use a UPS  store post office box, someone’s address.. whatever , if you want it bad enough, you will make it work.

Ijeoma did you graduate from the program

It is good that you just want the license which is, peculiar to so many students but, you have to think if, you will just get that license easily like you think at ICHS. Sometimes people don't easily get out of ICHS quickly due to their exit exams of which, they do intentionally to keep people around. There are people that have been there for over 3 years and still there because, they can't pass exit. I think you should inquire more about exit exams at ICHS because, your finishing from their school will be based on you passing exit exams. Anyway, have a great day.

Yep I graduated from ICHS but, worst school ever.

After more research and actually talking to the school, I’ve decided against it. They raised their tuition exponentially. And to be honest, I didn’t like the person I was talking to. I found her to be rude and dismissive. The search continues. Thank you for your input.

They are very rude and aggressive, always at a fight with students, always angry and greedy people. That is them for real, worst school to go to. So many schools are now offering online. Run from ICHS.

We (my friend and I) started our journey at ICHS in June 2019, we took micro and A&P for the first semester. We skipped the second semester because we already had math, english, philosophy, and psychology. In the third semester, I took fundamentals and pharm, my friend took med Surg 1 and pharm (she's an LVN by the way, I am not). We went to FL. for our 1st clinical (6 days plus 2 days lab total of 8 days for Fundamentals) for my friend, (8 days clinical plus 2 days lab total of 10 days for Med surg1). We come from LA area by the way. During clinical, we met students from other states but mostly from CA. During my fourth semester, I and my friend were ready to schedule our next clinical which was on April 18, 2020, but it was canceled due to COVid. Maybe around June or July 2020, the President of the school announced the accelerated program for students who are qualified to take the accelerated exam, and if you pass you don't have to finish med surg 2. You will be qualified to take the comprehensive exam and finish the course early. I am not qualified because I am not LVN. My friend took the test and pass. She also passes the comprehensive exam, and in Oct. 2020 became officially an RN. There are three more students I personally met that are now registered nurses here in CA and soon I am positively confident that I will be the next one. ( I am taking Capstone by the way) We are so thankful for this school. They are not perfect, but as long as you are focus, determine, and willing to put in the effort, this school will take you to become an RN. ICHS did not take advantage of me nor my friend. She got her CA RN license in 16 months and only went to FL once. How cool is that?

I know some students who went to ICHS ahead of us and did not pass the comprehensive exam. They have nothing but negative words about the school. Remember: "Successful people build each other up. They motivate, inspire, and push each other. Unsuccessful people just hate, blame, and complain. People who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it. ( I speak from my own experience.)

Thank you so much for giving us your experience. I am not an LVN either so all this is. We to me, I am in pharmacology now and  passed fundamentals last term. I took them by themselves because I had a couple foot surgeries, I didn’t want too much going on. We also haven’t started out in person labs or clinicals yet because of Covid. I started the program in July 2020. We have been doing assimilation’s for now.  It’s going well so far, it’s a lot of self learning since it’s online, so don’t expect someone to hold your hand. However, the professors I have had all have been super helpful this far.

We are hoping to start in person clinicals next term most likely in February of Covid rules in Florida permit it, crossing my fingers and lab. So far I am enjoying it and learning a lot while being at home here in Oregon and working part time.  Just like any school, there are some issues and some disorganization, but no I don’t feel taken advantage of either. My Pharm midterm is on Monday, and whew I’m nervous, so much info.
good luck to you and  please  private email me to connect if you would like.
thanks, Amy

@amyrose1214 Goodluck to us! Online school is hard, it is harder than traditional school because we have to work harder to learn on our own. But, we can do it!  ?
