Amy, There are literally 400 ADN-RN degrees. and most all they offer masters and post doc. Get through step one with least money and lest time. Learn as much but u won't until you first job. Then pick a specialty or stay. follow your whims on kids, divorce, ***iness of pts and staff, shift, commute, and etc. There is no right or wrong answer. Just get it started and done sooner bc the time alwasy goes.
Thank you and I love and appreciate your advice. This is my second career after special Ed teaching . And I’m not as young as I would like to be, so I need the least amount of resistant and the quickest way to get from point A-B.
Someone else said the same thing you did, to get the RN (accredited) then later while working bridge RN to masters. Or whatever later I may want to do. Capella has a program like that. I already have a BS and a masters, but not in the medical field, so this is all new to me and I love science.
I did get accepted into Keiser university ADN program hoping to start this fall, also got accepted to Chamberlain but yikes too long and money.
I would have to move from Portland area to fortlauderdale but like you said, it’s short 16 months get it done.
crazy, I started this new path in Jan of this year with the science pre- reqs and I will be finished in mid Aug.
Goos work to you for pushing through ICHS and staying focused. I think I read somewhere you were now a traveling nurse ? If so I hope you are having fun, and getting to see some interesting places, prob not so much with Covid right now, but maybe soon.
I appreciate all the help and advice.
Thanks, ? Amy
Amy, I have been reading a lot of responses here. I have made the decision for which I should have made three years ago to attend. I am coming from Atlanta, Georgia. I wanted to start this Monday but some of my credits they are not able to accept so I prefer not to spend the extra monies to take them there and will begin in October so that I can go right into the program. I think there was another lady talking about how she finished and just had a goal she wanted to meet. Thats me. I am sure nothing is going to be perfect and I am willing to pay this out of pocket. I am not concerned about the travel, cost or if they are disorganized because I am pretty sure that the course work is something that I already understand with the current work, knowledge and experience I have in healthcare. When are you beginning?
I was going to room by myself etc but to have someone else that perhaps wants to go together might be great as well. My husband isn't totally in but he's okay with my decision. He wants me to go here local but I am not interested in waiting to be accepted in. I just want to get the ASN and them move up IF I desire to do so.
If anyone is starting June 8 let me know. I am hoping to start in October and I have every intention on getting this done this time. Amy if you can email me please do. [email protected] thank you
Rhonda
Just don't think it's easy as you want, there is possibility that in 3 years you will still not be done with ICHS. You never know until you get in. Don't just think because you want to get it done so, any short cut will work. No ICHS is not that way like you sound, and we that finished with ICHS in 2018/2019 can tell you that things have changed from the time Kris was there. There is a possibility that you could spend more than three years at ICHS due to irregularities, so many things contribute and believe my word.
Anyway, a word is enough for the wise LOL.

@vegas , I used to live in vegas and was accepted into chamberlain but I’d have to move back from Oregon and eek, expensive. So that’s why I’m looking into going to get An ADN then bridge to MSN later online .
