I pass my HESI exit first time and my NCLEX-RN first time with 75 questions. I took my NCLEX RN in Pasadena Ca under FL BON. I got my result in less than 24hrs. I process the endorsement from FL BON to Ca BON the day I found out I pass the exam. I applied for CA temporary license, got it in two weeks. Or you can pick up ithe temporary license paper in Sacramento after 4 days. That’s what some of my classmates did. I’m still waiting for my original endorsement RN (it will take 3 mos, Ca BON is slow) but with my temporary RN license I can apply anywhere. Little info about me: I’m not an LVN, I have CNA license which I only use for 1mos… dang! What a hard job! I don’t read books it drives me crazy. What helped me go through nursing school and NCLEX is listening to Mark Klimek audio and reading his notes ( free, Google it). I follow Cathy Parkes videos on Youtube, simple, brief, direct to the point information. I bought her flashcards so easy to understand. These two helped me everything to pass nursing school. For NCLEX preparation, I used UWorld only together with Mark klimek audio. I listen to him all the time cause he is good. I listen to him when I’m walking, driving, hiking, or doing nothing. Also, talk to your classmates and study together. Find a study partner, it helps a lot. Like you, I was hesitant too, I have so many what if. But after finding out they are ACEN accredited I just enrolled and focus. I can’t still believe I am RN now. That’s all guys! Goodluck to all. You too can do it. Just stop complaining and go to work. @Overcast I'm applying for FL BON then endorse to CA BON once I pass my NCLEX. The process to endorse once passed is pretty easy according to my classmates who already had passed. No hospital clinical only SNF. Do I want a hospital of course but what can you do, there's no hospital site. I'm not LVN either. I have zero knowledge about nursing but I am dedicated and focus on what I want. If I can do it you can do it. ATT (Authorized to test) is a letter from NCSBN to schedule your NCLEX exam. I was done last month June 2021... once you passed your exit. You can start the NCLEX application right away. I don't know about you waiting for CA BON.. Goodluck with the long wait process, FL BON is quick once they got your transcript. Endorsing your FL RN license to CA BON is quicker than trying to apply for a license in CA. The school will tell you how many hours of clinical you need. Normally, each semester has clinical hours ex. Psych and Med surg 1, but due to pandemic the clinical was canceled. So I was doing all my remaining clinical when they open the site. When I think I was safe to fly to FL. I schedule my clinical and 2 day check-off lab which is skills demonstration. (watch Youtube) on May. I plan to take my exam in June and I was able to find clinical hours for 10days in June before my final exam. You need to finish your clinical before final exam. The rest just ask/ email the school what you need just follow their advice, talk to your classmates and study.

@GynOncNurse I was doing UWorld until some students told me about ybg so I switched to ybg. It's harder than the actual exam but it will prepare you for the comprehensive exit. Just read the rationale. I bought the comprehensive book but I hated it cause their rationale sucks. I never open it since. On the actual exam read the questions twice or thrice, don't change your answer stick to your gut if you think it's the answer. Practice with a timer so during the actual exam you don't run out of time. Practice practice practice. That's all I can say. Goodluck!

The passing rate for HESI exit is 850 preferred score is 900 that's the HESI standard and the school use that. If you get 850 you will pass. There are two kinds of students, those who like to complain because they didn’t pass and those who just go with the flow and work. Me? I'm just thankful and sharing with you my experienced. About the clinical, I don't know why they are complaining about it, we are in pandemic situation people. Schools in CA are canceling three semesters and we still moving. Many of my LVN classmates were able to get experiential credit from their work. I don’t know how long that will last but yeah due to the pandemic the previous capstone and the current capstone collided but it slowly works out. I was able to finish my 10 days clinical in June and pass my exit first try. I'm finished. I'm just waiting for my ATT authorized to test for NCLEX RN.

I finally finished my program and preparing for NCLEX. My classmates are already passing their NCLEX, they said the endorsement of their license to CA is pretty easy and quick after passing the NCLEX-RN. I was kinda late cause due to COVID-19 I refused to fly to FL to take my HESI Exit exam. Goodluck to all of you who are enrolled in this program. I am glad I could help. Believe me we were like you before we started this program. We are hesitant, we have so many questions. But so glad we went for it. Some students I know here in Cali, they already started pre reqs now they are still in pre reqs. When I started the program I started micro and A&P back in June 2019. Now, I’m almost done.

We went to FL once for two weeks only. I still need to do more clinical hours maybe another additional 3 weeks then I would say I would complete the CA minimum clinical hours if completed.

No I didn’t take the exam cause they only offered it to the students who are about to take or was taking med surg 2. I was still on med surg 1 that time.

As for my group, we are not allowed to take NCLEX-RN if we don’t do 50% of direct ptient care which is the minimum requirement here in CAli due to COVID-19. So we must do another clinical in FL. But due to COVID-19, no clinical schedule is allowed so we have to wait.

By the way, the accelerated program was one time shot only. They only offered last semester due to Covid-19.

Don’t beat yourself if you are not an LVN/LPN believe me there’s so many LVN/LPn who also struggled in nursing school. I am not an LVN. I don’t have a medical background nor work in any medical area. You can do it! I can do it! We can all do it!

Yes, Capstone is the last step. We are doing a 4day live review with the NCLEX specialist now before taking our exit exam next month. I only went to FL once due to Covid. My friend got lucky she only went to FL once and got her RN license, due to covid our school offered an accelerated deal program last semester and if you pass you will skip the med surg 2 and can challenge the exit exam. She passed and also passed her NCLEX-RN. I am so happy for her. She is now a licensed RN here in California.
