I worked so hard to get into a Nursing program.I guess I should have pushed myself a little more . The cut off point at my school was 3.78. My gpa was 3.55....and the bad news is...my chances of getting into the program are very little.Unless the cutoff point lowers down to a 3.55.(which im sure is'nt going to happen). Is anyone in my situation? If so..please share.

Nyassuie, which score are you referring to.There are two composite score

ahhh I see what you mean LAROSILIERE7..... i think Nyassuie did excellent on the NLN. I was talking about my composite score and I believe Nyassuie is talking about the composite percentile score. Wow Nyassuie did very well . CONGRATS on your acceptance.!!!!!:balloons:

Hey Nyaussie, when is the deadline for BI? I thought that I did not score well enough to get into BI. I scored 112, so maybe I have a chance? which program are you getting into? I can only do the ATOP because I HAVE to work during the day.

Oh and how do you like that prof?

I can't stand that prof. He makes you write a 15 page paper on aging, and he is an A$$.

BY the way we are not allowed to put professors names,. maybe you should edit that.

From the BI website it says applications should be in by April 1 and all required documents by May 1. On another post someone was saying that May 1 was the deadline for everything so I am not sure.

I believe BI looks for 55th percentile in all areas. My comp score was 137, verb 95, Math 97 and science 88.

Maybe you should give them a call and find out. I think I will be doing the ATOP also.

To clarify: composite percentile 95, Composite Score 137

Nyaussie , was it your first time taking the exam?

WOW you did really well. I am currently finishing two classes at my current school. If I don't get in I'll try BI and other schools, but I am probably to late to apply to BI because I would have to get all my transcripts together from 2 schools. I would also need other classes for the ATOP program.

congrats again on your acceptance & let us know how you like it once you start. I have heard only but great news about BI. Good luck

Hang in there and don't give up trying to get in.

Thanks Guys for your words of encouragement

I would simply apply to another school. An nursing license is a nursing license, wherever it is earned.

Does this program have an alternate position? If it does, then you're more than likely in. I was accepted as an alternate into one of the toughest programs here in Florida, and two weeks later was accepted as a full student. So, if your program has an alternate position, don't sweat it too much.

Thanks LorliA. I appreciate it. MAve,what do you mean by alternate position?I want to know more. What was your GPA?

An alternate position is when you're kind of in, but you're not. You have to wait until someone who was actually accepted into the program drops out or is kicked out b/c of positive drug results, etc. In Tampa, most of the programs have this and most of the time the alternates are accepted completely. My GPA was at the alternate level and that's why I was accepted as such. The GPA to get accepted into the program was 3.8. It's tough to get in b/c they want 3.8 and up, not 3.8 and down. However, my GPA was a 3.3 and I was accepted as an alternate, then by the grace of God, and I'm sure the person who dropped and gave me my space had other plans and I wish her/him the best ;) , I was accepted completely. It's a little complicated, but if you were down here with your GPA, you'll not only be accepted as an alternate, you probably would be first in line.
