I went to a nursing school in Miami Florida that is approved by the Florida board of nursing. I took my RNnclex on April 1, 2023 and have yet to receive my license. I contacted the New YORK boardĀ of nursing and the response I received was " Unfortunately the school you attended is listed on the Florida DOH website as non-accredited, a supervisor is looking into this matter. Does this mean I won't get a license to practice in NY.

thank you, now I need to get admission in FNP program, so I have look around, there are programs which were waiting for my license, but I am now thinking to start some job on Florida license remotely if possible to save 40k for my masters FNP tution fee, or I have to go for some private loan, as I m not eligible for federal scholarship.

OK, that's good. No, I meant if you decide to move to Florida to work, you can apply. But I just email you.

Yes, I understand your advice to move to Florida, but at the moment can not, because my family is here in NY. So would be looking for options to get loan of around 35-40k.

NY currently has several NLC bills in it's State Legislature. The governor of NY supports the Compact, as does the president of the NY chapter of the American Nurses Association. The National Council Of The State Boards Of Nursing is working with NY legislators to get a bill passed. Rhode Island passed the Compact last year, Connecticut looks like it will be passing the Compact this year, and Massachusetts legislators are working hard to get the Compact passed soon.

Write to your legislators and show your support for the NLC. Many nurses in Washington State inundated their legislators with letters of support for the NLC; Washington is now a Compact state. Your voice does make a difference.
