I Want to be an LPN

Published

I graduate as a dental assistant few yrs ago but I havent paid for my student loan, and now I'm under default. That mean I cant enrolled at any schools until I get out of it and get my account back to normal. I have 6 more month to pay what ever I have to pay and I should be good, ; 0) and go back to school. In those 6 month I want to read about everything that have to do with science, I believe thats what everyone have to study before getting In to the lpn/rn program. So I need for someone to tell me what books I should read ahead of time before I begin school for my lpn program. And as far I know, to become as a registered nurse or lpn ect is extremely difficult to pass, and hrs to spend every single day studying, reading, memorized new term, hw, ect..ect.. not everyone pass these classes because is extremely difficult. s from 200 students it can end up to 50 students that pass to the nursing program. And I dont want that to happen to me. Im very excited about going to school to become as a lpn or rn.i also want to know head of time what are the curriculum for the lpn program after I pass my science class, well thats IF I pass. Im not a very intelligent person, I have always been a C student in h, S, but something inside of me is telling me that I can do it, and reached my goal as a nurse. IIf put all the effort .. Also.... I work part time in a dental office as a receptionist, would thisI be a problem if I start nursing school?. Do I need to quit my job to be able to focus more and study more? any advice?

I am not sure that reading ahead would really benefit you this far in advance. As you get closer to starting up your program you will receive a syllabus and a list of books. At that point, you might try reading ahead a bit, possibly the first few chapters of your required readings, etc.

If you want to brush up on something science related...maybe you could brush up on anatomy. That will be important to know as a nursing student.

Whether or not you will work during school is a decision that you must make for yourself. Do you feel that you are the type of person who could balance work and school? Do you feel that you would perform well or would work interfere? I have seen people balance work and school very well and I have also seen people struggle to find that balance. It all depends on the type of person you are and what you can handle. I would have a back up plan (such as saved up funds, etc) just in case you find that it is too difficult to work while in school...

Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Y it sure did help me alot.... and about school and work , most likely I will need to quit, or find someone to coverd up for me one day. il see, thank you

I had a hard time reading your post due to grammatical errors; I am not trying to be mean, but you might consider brushing up on your writing skills first. This will help you when you take tests to get into nursing school. If you want to study ahead of time, study math and basic algebra, and your English writing skills. If you have not yet taken the ACT, or the equivalent, then this will help you do well in that, too. It will take some effort to get into a nursing program, and usually the students who test the highest will get in first. You must first contact a few nursing schools and find out what will be required of you; what are your chances of getting in, whether you will be able to work, etc., and what can you do about your student loan. First steps first! No point in reading up on sciences right now. Good luck, dear.
