My school, UNCW, is transitioning away from HESI to TEAS. From what I have seen of both tests, the TEAS does not have as much chemistry on it as the HESI. English is one of my strong points, so I'm not too worried about that part (although I will still continue to prepare for it). My question to everyone is : how bad are the math and science parts of the TEAS? I've heard some people say that it consists of simple fraction and percent problems, and also basic periodic table style questions. I have to take it by the end of July, so I'm trying to prepare as early as I can. I do have the ATI guide on the way, but I wanted to get some input from people who have already taken the test.

math and science parts aren't bad however, you aren't given much time for either section. i didn't do great on the math part due to the short amount of time for that section. i'd recommend practicing lots of math with an interval timer.

I didn't find either section too bad. I scored 90 on Math, which was mostly simple stuff like basic fractions, proportions, basic algebra, percentages, etc. I scored 100 on science, which did have some chemistry, but seemed to focus primarily on Anatomy and Physiology. I just used the ATI guide. I spent maybe an hour a day with the guide for about 3 weeks before I took the test, then took the practice exam and went back to focus on those areas I as weakest in. Overall, I didn't find the TEAS to be all that difficult. Good luck to you!

Its based off a 12th grade curriculum so yea idk how old you are but if you can remember that far back your good. There are also plenty of practice books and websites that have practice test. I took it about a year ago and got a 73%. I havent retaken it yet but I am considering it since Im having a hard time getting into a RN program to the point were Im actually considering just doing an LPN program and working my way up. I will say that it was fairly simple but I didnt study at all for it. I mean I registered for it the night before I took it so yea Im sure next time ill actually study and do much better.

I am the same way, much better at history and english than math. I thought it was reasonable...I did study the math and science alot beforehand to be sure my mind was refreshed on the subject matter though. I remember the math would be really easy and then there would be a couple crazy difficult problems thrown in there that were suprising. It was mainly fractions, basic math with some algebra and a few more advanced questions. The science was not difficult, but all over the place. I remember they asked about different types of rocks and clouds, which I did not expect to see on a nursing school entrance exam! Good Luck!!

I remember other people saying that there were a few questions about clouds......I thought that they were joking! I will definitely review that, just to be sure.

Please i need to know if there is a difference between TEAS and TEAS V ? Can you tell me what you know about TEAS V(subjects and rate of easiness), and suggest reading materials for it :-/, Thanks alot.

I took the exam last week and I don't recall any questions about clouds, geology, or anything of the sort.

The math was pretty simple. They don't allow calculators, after all. Basic addition, subtraction, fractions, percentages, and extremely basic algebra. The highest it goes is absolute values.

The chem is basic but there are some organic chem concepts. Know something about hydrocarbons, alkenes, alkynes.

The ATI book is tougher than the test so if you study from that, you should be fine.

Now I have seen quite a few people say that the science part in the ATI book wasn't anything like the test and that the test was way harder.

This is the part I am freaking out about the most!
