I stress over general education?

Published

I am currently taking Music Appreciation right now and it's even harder than Anatomy.

I know what/how to study Anatomy but Music is keep listening and utilize the vocabulary for each piece.

I guess it's because of my GPA I have low 3.0-4.0 GPA range...

Should I not stress about general education?

I am just afraid that getting B will lower my GPA even more.

I never got stressed over general education.

Everyone gets to a point where they are stressed over a class especially when we all know we are each others competition. You want the best grades and I understand but you should do something to take your mind off your classes. At the beginning of this semester I was stressing hard and my sister told me to relax so I started to do things that takes my mind of classes and life got so much easier  . You should definitely do the same. Your GPA seems pretty good, I don't think you should worry.

Unless your school has a super strict policy I would not stress so much especially when your GPA sounds like it is ok. Try some relaxation methods or exercising. General education classes can be hard so it is understandable to get stressed about it. Try tutoring if you are so worried, speak with your teacher, there are online tutorials for about everything, and learn to talk with your peers (peer study groups and teaching work well for some). Do not blow off gen eds but do not let it ruin your perspective. Learn how to nip problem areas in the butt and get good study habits from it.

Stop worrying about general education. When you fill out applications you will see that they ask you present your grades for specific pre-req classes. You're not going to be putting music appreciation down when applying to four-year universities. Sure, they will look at your transcripts to see your overall gpa, but they specifically want to know how competent you are in classes that really apply to nursing. Concentrate on Anatomy Min. You'll get the school you want (USF. yes I am a mind reader) with persistence and a more positive attitude. Good luck to you mate.

It depends on what school you are applying to whether you should be concerned about general ed. Some schools look at total GPA but then mainly focus on science GPA, others look only at specific prereq classes and science as well other factors such as recommendations, volunteering, past experience, entrance exam scores, etc. I have been looking into 3 different schools and science GPA and entrance exams are the most important. Overall GPA is somewhat important for 1 school. So I am focusing on making all A's in science and working toward getting an awesome test score for the TEAVs exam.

So, you should really research (where you intend to apply for nursing school) what they are looking for in applicants and it could be that overall GPA is important or it may not be...

As an example, one of the schools I am interested in only uses certain classes to factor total GPA like Dev Psych, math, all sciences, sociology, and a few other specific classes required - but all my other classes don't factor into the GPA - I hope that makes sense. However, a different school I am interested in looks at the total GPA but mainly focuses on sciences and entrance exam scores.
