I feel like I’m being targeted please help

Hell nurses, thank you all so much for your help. It was needed as I felt so stuck especially being new to nursing. I ended up resigning from that location. It was very overwhelming and not a healthy place to be in. One of those jobs where you just show up although you much rather not walk in. I didn’t work this hard in school to not enjoy what I do based on staff and the environment. I know not every environment is great but I have found a better place. One with staff that actually teaches me, answers all of my questions , have extensive training. I really feel welcomed here. I wish I would’ve passed on That first offer That gave me such a bad experience as a new grad but now I truly appreciate where I’m at. thank you all once again.

I understand this was my first job out of nursing school and I was just trying to support my family

Yes I’m already suspended before talking to the director. Do you think that I should attend the meeting on Monday? Or just be done with this place.

I feel like I’m being targeted please help

I’m now in another situation at this job, i did a med error onFriday and on the next shift the patient had to be sent to hospital. When I returned to work Saturday morning the noc shift asked me questions and that’s when I realized i made the med error. I acknowledge my wrong to the supervisor and asked her what to do far as documentation (because I’ve never been in this situation before)she said she will talk with Assistant Director of nursing. so i worked Saturday morning and in the evening after my shift the job called and said that I am suspended for three days and then in the same conversation she said I’m suspended until further notice but to come on Monday to speak with the Director of nursing. I was surprised she suspended me over the phone and then asked for a meeting after. This sound backwards to me. As much as I have already felt targeted this med error is the icing on the cake for them to fire me before quitting. I have three interviews this upcoming week and I was waiting to officially land a new job. I almost don’t want to go to the meeting because I feel they will fire me, but I have to document the med error since the supervisor didn’t tell me which documents To complete. What are your thoughts?
  5. Hi everyone, I am a new LVN and have currently been working at my job for a couple of months now. I had five days of training which I told them I needed more training, the scheduler told me that he “believed in me” so I was forced onto the floor in my opinion due to short staffing. Very high turn over rate at this job. So ive been written up 8 times in the month of November, sometimes twice in one day sometimes two days in a row. I explained to the supervisor that I was never taught this and I should not be written up for something that I was never taught. She preceded to write me up.. I was also written up for calling out of work when I caught a flu and had an excused doctor note the supervisor said that it would be easy to replace me if I don’t want to work there”. I am very frustrated because I didn’t come this far to not love what I am so passionate about. I’ve been yelled at by the director of nursing for asking for help. I feel like I am being targeted. Who should I talk to about this? What should I do? Please help me and thank you so much.

    Really need some great advice

@JenniferLynWhat May I ask if you had to take other courses to bring your gpa up? And what was your science gpa? Also did you find it harder for you in being accepted into a program? I do plan to talk to an advisor first thing thing Monday. I am hoping to speak with someone who can provide a good path for me instead of telling me to change my goal which I dont plan to. Hoping for the best. Thanks for your post

@pmabraham Good Afternoon Human biology is a class I will look into. When I previously talked to counselors they never mentioned it to me. Being that it was helpful for you in other science courses I'm pretty sure it will benefit my education aswell. I will do my research and see if it is available next semester. You are right there are different styles of learning and it took me a while to learn how I could obtain information quickly also. I am still moving towards my goal and learning from mistakes and I'm hoping for the best. Thanks for your help @tasha92337 Hello Wow I hope everything work out well for you. You have the opportunity to start over in your sciences and you have work experience in the healthcare field. Best of luck

    Really need some great advice

Thank you all for your advice . I was definitely in a bad situation during those times and have took the steps towards bettering my personal life. I am in a better place and I want to keep going forward in my career. I have faith that if one way doesn't work another one will. I really asked myself the questions @ThatBigGuy and @pmabraham have asked. No I wasn't able to make it to every lecture when I did attend class I stayed until the end. At my college there is only one grade for lecture and lab. So whatever you get in lecture you get in lab. For my next step I do want to boost my science gpa, have anyone had this problem and care to share any advice?I do plan to talk to a counselor next week but I do want to see if anyone else had a similar experience. Thanks again for your time

    Really need some great advice

Hi all, I am doing my pre requisites and I am attending my community college in California. I have taken a&p1 and a&p2 in both I have C letter grades. I withdrew from a&p2 twice due to personal reasons. I wanted to know if I should take anatomy seperate from physiology to get A's and increase my chance of acceptance into a program? I also wanted to know is taking anatomy separate from physiology considered a repeat of the combined a&p course ? I really don't know what to do. I have been trying to get advice from the college nursing program at my school but they have not contacted me back. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
  10. English 1a is easy in my course we had about four papers and two weeks to do each, make sure if you are not a strong writer you are using outside sources at your college for help on your papers. Oral communication was very easy, in my course I just had to do two presentations, simple! Anatomy and physiology its one of my most interesting courses yet, (I like to learn) but it does require your time memory, and understanding. Just for a heads up pace yourself with your courses and make sure you do your best and good luck to you.

    Summer Classes

I'm taking chemistry, and life span psychology. Although our summer wont be so fun we have the nursing program to look forward to. Good luck

Anyone who had chemistry over the summer, please read

@rubato Now that you said that, I actually look forward to the fast pace, especially not having to review material before the final. I was a little skeptical but I have taken a math course during the summer which wasn't bad at all. Thanks for the response.
  13. I am thinking of taking a general chemistry course (chemistry 30a) over the summer. I wanted to know: 1. How was the course for you? 2. Did you pass or fail? 3. What made it easier for you to learn science at a fast paced? Any information would be really helpful. Thanks

    I stress over general education?

Everyone gets to a point where they are stressed over a class especially when we all know we are each others competition. You want the best grades and I understand but you should do something to take your mind off your classes. At the beginning of this semester I was stressing hard and my sister told me to relax so I started to do things that takes my mind of classes and life got so much easier . You should definitely do the same. Your GPA seems pretty good, I don't think you should worry.

    Chamberlain College

Hi I haven't applied I just talked to someone who works there, and basically got information on the program. I wanted to apply for the September start but I am choosing to wait until my prerequisite courses are complete. So ill possibly apply for the early start next year. The only thing I hear is that people say its for profit and any nursing school cost money so. That's all I've heard so far. Good luck
