I have a question about specialties

Published

I'm from the US, and over here we just "specialize" in whichever field we get a job in. I'm in school right now and I'd like to come to the UK right after I finish. I'm very interested in Oncology, plastic surgery, or pediatrics. How would I go about doing this for the UK? Do i need some kind of liscense?

Peds. :) or Maternity

Specializes in midwifery, ophthalmics, general practice.

Just wait till we get to the whole colour vs color thing! Being a Canadian/American, I'm always torn between which to use....

Hi. You would have to be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Start by downloading an application form from their website. that's how I've done it anyway. you would have to complete an adaptation training, usually lasts 3-6 months in a regsitered hospital or trust. The NMC will give you the lists of all these hospitals.

Good luck!
