Hi, Allnurses
I have already got vaccinated and was wondering whether I am still contagious.
I know COVID vaccine protects you from coronavirus and I also know that you can still get COVID even though you are vaccinated, but the degree of symptoms are not as bad as unvaccinated people.
My question is does vaccinated people can spread the virus?
I saw a sign in a mall saying that you need a face mask if you are not vaccinated.
Does that mean vaccinated people don't spread COVID?
I was just curious about the fact whether vaccinated people can spread COVID or not.

There is evidence that vaccinated people who have become infected with the delta variant can transmit the virus to others. As has been the case since the pandemic started, new information is discovered and protocols change all the time. Can Vaccinated People Transmit COVID-19 to Others? I'm not quite sure whether you're asking if you're contagious from getting the vaccine or whether you're asking if you can still get the virus despite being vaccinated. Your use of contagious isn't matching up with the rest of your post.
None of the approved vaccines utilize live virus, so you were never contagious as a result of the vaccine. Moderna and Pfizer utilize mRNA and J&J utilizes a viral vector.
Can you still get COVID? No vaccines are 100% in all people. So, theoretically yes, you could get infected and pass it along, but your chances of doing so are greatly reduced.
We have also moved your post to the COVID forum for best responses.

The CDC has the information that you are seeking. https://www.CDC.gov/vaccines/covid-19/health-departments/breakthrough-cases.html
The vaccine does not cause covid infection or illness.
The vaccines are safe and effective at preventing serious illness or death from covid, including the current variants.
The longer unvaccinated and unmasked Americans keep this virus circulating in high volume the longer the country and economy will struggle, more people will get ill, more people will die, more people will experience long term disability and more children will be adversely impacted. The longer the pandemic goes on, the more variants are created. The longer the pandemic extends into the future, the more likely that it will evade previous immunity (vaccine or natural) as coronaviruses always do.
Vaccinated individuals who develop breakthrough infection can spread the virus although they are less likely to spread the virus than infected but unvaccinated counterparts. Anyone who is covid positive should avoid contact with others and test.

The word contagious may be misplaced however:
She asked if vaccinated people can spread the virus
She saw signs saying vaccinated people don't need a mask, enhancing her question regarding the possibility of vaccinated people spreading the Virus

Yes vaccinated people can spread the disease.
That is why masks are making a comeback in so many areas.

RECENT STUDIES SHOW you can be fully vaccinated and still acquire, carry, and share viral particles even if you don't get sick.
This is why even if you are vaccinated you should mask up, to protect others and decrease your chance of picking it up to spread.
