I passed guys! I saw my license number on the NM BON. It was quicker than the quick results! It was my first time to take the exam.
Let me express my gratitude to Suzanne. She guided me throughout the whole registration process, answering every single one of my questions patiently and promptly. I don't know how you do it, but everytime I sit in front of a computer for so long my head starts to ache. Thank you so much for your dedication!
I did Judith Miller review but that was more than 6 months ago already. I kept delaying my exam because I was soooo scared.
I did Saunders too (3rd edition, I know I should've gotten the 4th but I already wrote a lot of notes in my 3rd edition way back in nursing school) I borrowed the 4th edition CD though. I did about half of those questions. Saunders is the best resource for content.
LaCharity's question were the closest to NCLEX imo, about 50% of my questions were priority type. It is a very good practice to develop critical thinking skills. I didn't finish the entire book though, I ditched the last 4 chapters.
Kaplan Qtrainer was great too. But the questions were too wordy, that alone took a lot of my time LOL.
NCLEX Day was difficult! I had random diseases and whatnot. Had only a few meds and infection control. The rest were priority and teaching-learning. No math. I was sure of only 5 questions, so imagine my horror when it stopped at 75. I was stressed! But at least they let me keep the earplugs :chuckle Good Stuff !
So yeah, after about 26 hours, I found my name on the website of NM BON. Thank God I saved the $8 I would've paid for the quick results.
To those who are about to take the exam: When I reviewed with Judith Miller, she told as that she hasn't seen an exam without TB, Cushings/Addisons, Osteo vs Rheumatoid arthritis and plaster casts. I don't know how true that is, but hey if she said so LOL.
If I can do it, you guys can do it. Don't forget your basics. Don't get too occupied on the medical stuff and focus on the nursing stuff. And yeah don't forget your assessments and pre and post whatever procedure.
And yeah keep the faith! He who keeps his state of mind in the Lord, He will keep him in perfrct peace. Whenever I felt like I couldn't do it anymore, I listened to inspirational songs from Kirk Franklin, Karen Clark Sheard, Mariah Carey, Kim Burrell, Marvin Sapp etc. Gospel stuff are the best!
Thank you to everyone here on allnurses. I never would have heard of LaCharity or QTrainer without this site. The random facts and Inf control helped a lot too, and yes your prayers and support! :redbeathe
