Published

I took my TEAS V today and passed...80.7%!!! I am super happy :D I haven't been to school in 20 years, but I studied my butt off! If anyone would like more info on my experience or how to prepare, leave a comment and I will be more than happy to answer!

Nursing school, here I come!!!!!:nurse:

I have my teas in 3 hrs please give me some tips. I hope you see this before I go in for the test

That's awesome! I took the TEAS in February and didn't pass. I just got done with high school, so I thought of studying in June and taking it again in July. I am planning to start my nursing program in the Spring. I have the ATI book and McGraw Hill 5 practice tests, and I was thinking about purchasing an online practice exam, as well. I would love any advice, which books helped you, your experience, and how to prepare!

What sources do you recommend outside the ATI study guide?

How long did you take to prepare for the test?

Thank you for your input.

Congratulations.

Congratulations!!! I would love to know how you studied for this to do so well.

Congratulations! Please share how you prepared for the TEAS V.

Congrats I had an 80% on mines.

Hi! I would love to know how you studied for teas!

Hi, Congrats!

I took my exam teas exam yesterday through PSI test center. I got 83.3%. I am very happy with my grade!

It was my second time taking the test though. Now, I just need to apply and wait until August I think. I really don't like the long wait.

So, Bronz, did you apply yet to know whether you were accepted or not? Or is there a fixed minimum grade to get accepted?

Anyway, looking at your history, you did a very good job!

@madonna...I'm soooo sorry! I'm just now seeing this. My alerts aren't coming to my emails for some reason. I will have to notify customer service and see what's wrong. Anyway, how did you do??!!!

I'm glad you are taking it again!!! Don't be discouraged  I purchased ATI's package, that included the study guide and two online practice tests, each you are able to take twice. I really feel those were the deciding factor in helping me passed. The reason being is that I was able to gauge what subjects, and areas within those subjects I needed to focus on because your able to print out a report that shows you what you missed, and where in the study guide you need to go for review. For me, it was the science. And surprisingly, I scored an 81.3% on my actual exam. The McGraw I purchased was the 15 practice test guide that included a CD ROM. I also had purchased flash cards, but did but did not find them helpful for my style of learning. The first thing I did was take both practice tests, on two different days. I printed out my score sheet and began studying those areas that I missed on the tests. It took me about 3 1/2 weeks, studying 4-5 hors a day. I then took the first set of practice tests in the back of the ATI study guide. Next, I printed out an outline from a fellow allnurse member. I will send you her name so you can look for her. She has a whole outline to follow. If you give me your email, I will forward the screen shots I took of it and send to you so you can print it up to make it easier. After I completed the review of my ATI print outs, I then went to her outline...and focused on the things in her outline that I hadn't already reviewed. That for me was another week. I then took a couple of the science practice tests from McGraw that was on the CD Rom. I took them both twice. At that point, I was still studying 4-5 hours a day. My last week, I spent reviewing everything that I had already studied. I just kept going over it. I also took the second set of practice tests in the ATI study guide, as well as the written practice tests for science in the back of the McGraw book. My test was on a Friday, so on Wednesday I got online and retook the online practice test from ATI, and studied afterwards..I did the same thing on Thursday..retook the second version of the online ATI practice tests, and studied. I woke up early Friday morning and studied some more. One thing I can tell you for sure is that as I read from the study guides, I wrote down most of it in a notebook. Retention is better when you write it down even though your reading it. I also watched videos..any concepts I didn't really get or understand..especially for the life science and earth science, I watched videos on. YouTube and Khan Academy were excellent resources for me. I placed in the 89th percentile, which is the top 11% in the nation, the top 5% for reading and science. English and language usage was my lowest score, and the area I focused the least on, and I wish I had reviewed it a little more. My score could have possibly been in the 90's if I had. I hope this helps. Let me know if you would like the screen shots and I will send them to you :)

I would recommend the ATI study guide and the ATI online practice tests, as well as the McGraw Nursing Entrance Exam 15 practice tests with CD rom. I also printed an outline from one of the members here that helped me tremendously. If you give me your email, I will be more than happy to send you the screenshots I took so you can print the outline for yourself. I studied for 5 weeks, a minimum of 4-5 hours a day.
