I PASSED MY TEAS V!!!!
Yayyy! That's awesome!!! Great job! Yes I did apply already. I meet with financial aid next Wednesday. It was a lengthy process with drug testing, med clearance, and several other things including passing the TEAS. The minimum score to apply is 62. After my financial aid meeting next week, I have to hope to get called for an interview with the DON. She only selects 24 applicants a term. Keeping my fingers crossed

I PASSED MY TEAS V!!!!
Thank you!!! I used the ATI study guide and the ATI online practice exams...these are a must. I also used McGraws Nursing School Entrance Exams 15 practice test study guide, with CD Rom. There was a member here who posted a phenomenal outline with which to help study. I screen shot her post, typed and printed out the outline. If you are interested, send me your email, and I will be more than happy to send the shots to you. I first started by taking the two ATI online practice exams. These helped gauge where I was and where and what to focus my study on. These are nice too because you can take each one twice. After taking the practice exams, I printed out the report, and begin reviewing in the study guide all the things I had missed on the practice exams. That took me 3 weeks. I then took the first set of practice exams in the back of the ATI study guide. Next I started going over the outline I had printed up and kept reviewing what I had already studied. That took me another week. During that week, I took the science practice tests in the McGraw book and on the CD rom. Continued to keep reviewing what I had already gone over. I also took the second set of practice tests at the end of the ATI study guide. My exam was on a Friday. On Wednesday I took one of the online ATI practice exams again, and studied afterwards. Thursday I took the second online version again and studied afterwards as well. Woke up early Friday morning and reviewed for another couple of hours before my tests. A few things I want to point out is that Khan Academy and YouTube videos really helped me with the Life Science and Earth and Physical Science. They have excellent videos. The other thing is I kept a notebook and basically wrote down almost everything I read in the ATI book in a notebook. Retention and understanding is better when you write it down versus just reading and highlighting. The last thing I want to say is study the English and Language Usage. I was overconfident in that area, did not review it but for a day, and it was my lowest scoring section when it shouldn't have been. I would have scored higher overall if I had scored better in the Englidh. My score were, 90.5% for Reading, 86.7% Math, 81.3% Science, and 60% for English. I was in the top 11% in the nation overall, and top 5% for Reading and Science. I hope this helps :)

I PASSED MY TEAS V!!!!
I would recommend the ATI study guide and the ATI online practice tests, as well as the McGraw Nursing Entrance Exam 15 practice tests with CD rom. I also printed an outline from one of the members here that helped me tremendously. If you give me your email, I will be more than happy to send you the screenshots I took so you can print the outline for yourself. I studied for 5 weeks, a minimum of 4-5 hours a day.

I PASSED MY TEAS V!!!!
I'm glad you are taking it again!!! Don't be discouraged I purchased ATI's package, that included the study guide and two online practice tests, each you are able to take twice. I really feel those were the deciding factor in helping me passed. The reason being is that I was able to gauge what subjects, and areas within those subjects I needed to focus on because your able to print out a report that shows you what you missed, and where in the study guide you need to go for review. For me, it was the science. And surprisingly, I scored an 81.3% on my actual exam. The McGraw I purchased was the 15 practice test guide that included a CD ROM. I also had purchased flash cards, but did but did not find them helpful for my style of learning. The first thing I did was take both practice tests, on two different days. I printed out my score sheet and began studying those areas that I missed on the tests. It took me about 3 1/2 weeks, studying 4-5 hors a day. I then took the first set of practice tests in the back of the ATI study guide. Next, I printed out an outline from a fellow allnurse member. I will send you her name so you can look for her. She has a whole outline to follow. If you give me your email, I will forward the screen shots I took of it and send to you so you can print it up to make it easier. After I completed the review of my ATI print outs, I then went to her outline...and focused on the things in her outline that I hadn't already reviewed. That for me was another week. I then took a couple of the science practice tests from McGraw that was on the CD Rom. I took them both twice. At that point, I was still studying 4-5 hours a day. My last week, I spent reviewing everything that I had already studied. I just kept going over it. I also took the second set of practice tests in the ATI study guide, as well as the written practice tests for science in the back of the McGraw book. My test was on a Friday, so on Wednesday I got online and retook the online practice test from ATI, and studied afterwards..I did the same thing on Thursday..retook the second version of the online ATI practice tests, and studied. I woke up early Friday morning and studied some more. One thing I can tell you for sure is that as I read from the study guides, I wrote down most of it in a notebook. Retention is better when you write it down even though your reading it. I also watched videos..any concepts I didn't really get or understand..especially for the life science and earth science, I watched videos on. YouTube and Khan Academy were excellent resources for me. I placed in the 89th percentile, which is the top 11% in the nation, the top 5% for reading and science. English and language usage was my lowest score, and the area I focused the least on, and I wish I had reviewed it a little more. My score could have possibly been in the 90's if I had. I hope this helps. Let me know if you would like the screen shots and I will send them to you :)

Taking TEAS V today
@MSofia Thank you so much for your encouragement....I passed!!!!! My composite score was an 80.7%..I am super pleased. The crazy thing is the science is what I was worried about and studied the most for and I got an 81.3% in that section, lol. I got a headache halfway through the test and began feeling nauseated. I was soon nervous I didn't eat for fear of having to run to the restroom...and the headache affected me. The last section on English and Language usage, I scored a 60% and I know I should have and could have scored higher if not for the headache. Oh well, but I don't care....I'm so happy!!!! My admissions advisor was pleased also. If anyone has questions and want a bit more detail of my experience, I will be more than happy to answer!

TEAS V Exam
Hi everyone! I'm new to this site. I am taking my TEAS V today and I'm extremely nervous I've been out of school for 20 years, so my concern is the science portion of the exam. I have spent the last 6 weeks preparing. I purchased the ATI study guide and online practice tests, as well as the McGraw study guide. I had purchased some flash cards, but to be honest, that method of studying wasn't for me. The college I'm applying to requires a minimum of 62 to apply and will only select 24 applicants for the next upcoming term in August. Fingers and toes crossed I do well today and get into school. Any last minute suggestions and advice would be greatly appreciated. I will post my results after my exam :)

Taking TEAS V today
Hello everyone. I'm new to the site and am hoping to connect with other nurses and nursing students. I am in the process of applying for the nursing program at a local college and I take my TEAS V today. I'm soooooooo nervous I've been out of school for 20 years and have spent the last 6 weeks preparing. ATI and McGraw study guides, flash cards and online practice tests from ATI and the ATI study guide. My college only selects 24 applicants and I'm sure hoping to be one of them. Minimum score to apply is a composite score of 62. My last online practice exam I took last night was an 84, so we shall see. Fingers and Toes crossed. I would love any last minute suggestions or things to look out for that anyone who has taken it could recommend. Thanks so much and I will post how I did.
