Feeling Bored
I actually am required to float to the med/surg floors and inpatient rehab unit when the floors are low on staff and it’s my turn that day. So I get the feel of the other floors. I don’t want to switch to another med surg floor, I am wanting something different.

Feeling Bored
I’m currently in the same boat. I started working on an adult med/surg floor fresh out of nursing school and just passed my two year mark. I’m at the point that I can’t do it anymore because of it being so stressful and exhausting in so many ways like you mentioned. I’m trying to find a new position that I can be happy in and enjoy. It seems a lot harder than I thought. I’m interested in going to a clinic or a different route in the hospital setting - case management perhaps or infection control.

Failed Pharmacology
I have almost completed my first semester of the PN program. My class was the first class to take intro to pharmacology, and the class was very unstable. First, being a hard class as it is, adding all the instability with it, I was not prepared. With that being said, I had to drop and I have to retake it next semester in January. The teacher was not prepared, changed test formats (that we didn't know until two days before the test), etc. We were using a book that was at least a year ahead of us. We did not get a calculations class; although, we were getting tested on drug and IV problems. We started dealing with having to know the drugs, then she changed it by having to know classifications, but still asked questions with drugs. All in all, it was a very frustrating semester with just this class. Looking forward, I cannot go on with my nursing classes until I pass pharmacology. Very discouraging. I need any help I can possibly get. Books, websites, advice on how to study/pass pharmacology, study tips, study materials, nursing calculations, or anything else would be much appreciated!!

Pharmacology Help
I am currently in my first semester of nursing school, and my school decided to add Introduction to Pharmacology. The class has not been taught as a full class before. It was a rough start of the semester. The teacher had a hard time getting online materials to us in time for class or even unable to post things. The class is one day a week, which is ridiculous. We have an exam every week as well. Our teacher would focus on actual drugs throughout lecture, and we were expected to know them. She would post study outlines two days before the exam. It was very frustrating. Every week the exam was different formats that we didn't know until right before the exams. Then, she found out the textbook we were using were for like a 2nd or 3rd year BSN student. And now she is focusing the class on a more general term, that we just know things related to classifications. She gave us a list of at least 37 drug classifications. We have to know a few types of things for each classification. And we made charts in our own time. At this point in the semester, it's more of memorizing than actually learning--and I have no idea how to memorize these certain things with this many drug classes. I am very frustrated with the class, and I need to raise my grade. Any help would be appreciated!!

Shoes Help
For nursing school, I need white or black shoes. I've looked around at numerous stores for white Nike tennis shoes, but they all have mesh. And we are not allowed to have mesh; they have to be leather. She said Danskos are good, but I don't want to spend over $100 on shoes for school. Any opinions? I found these on Amazon, and they seem to look good. Wondering if anybody has these Nurse Mates for shoes? Amazon.com: Nurse Mates Women's Bryar Slip-On Clog Shoes: Work Shoes: Shoes Or should I get tennis shoes? I have no idea which kind of shoe I prefer as I don't know which shoe would be more comfortable.

Shoes and watches for school
So, I start nursing school on Monday. We have to have all white shoes or all black shoes. I was wondering what type of shoes worked best for others during nursing school in clinical and such. Brands and places to buy shoes. I have nike tennis shoes, but I am thinking I do not want to use them for school. I also need opinions on a second hand watch, as I just use my Fitbit for a watch. Brands and places to get good watches? Thanks in advance!

Adjusted Individual Score
I just have a quick question. I am studying for the TEAS, and I have been taking practice tests. I score each section with a percentage, but I wanted to know how to find out my overall percentage for each test I take. Is there a way to do this? I tried adding the percentages and dividing by 4 for an average, but it didn't work. Thanks in advance!

Average TEAS V Score? Your score?
I need help studying for science the most. It is all over the place within the sections. When I took the test, I felt like the numbers on the math portion were small, so I was actually guessing on what the numbers were. Anybody else have this issue? When I retake, I'll be asking about it.

Teas V Science and Math?
I have taken the test once, and I need to retake it. I was thinking about buying only one of the online practice tests. Which one would you suggest? Or does it matter?

McGraw Hill Nursing School Entrance Exams Book
I need to retake the TEAS, and I came across this book. I was wondering if anyone has it, and if it is helpful in preparing for the TEAS. I found it on Amazon. It's the second edition, strategies plus 8 practice exams. I have the ATI book and the McGraw Hill 5 practice tests book. Just curious if this would be worth it?

I PASSED MY TEAS V!!!!
That's awesome! I took the TEAS in February and didn't pass. I just got done with high school, so I thought of studying in June and taking it again in July. I am planning to start my nursing program in the Spring. I have the ATI book and McGraw Hill 5 practice tests, and I was thinking about purchasing an online practice exam, as well. I would love any advice, which books helped you, your experience, and how to prepare!

TEAS Exam Tips
What kind of science books or resources were very helpful? I took it my first time and got a low score, not enough to pass. And my science score was horrible. I get so frustrated with the science because it is all over the place, and I don't know exactly what to study.

New McGraw Practice Test
I bought the first edition. I felt like it was pretty good in everything but science. I am going to retake in June. I will have graduated high school, and I will have lots more time on my hands to actually study. I didn't even know there was a second, so please let us know how the second edition is whoever buys it! I would like the feedback!

Taking my TEAS in 4 HRS
Oh, no problem. But I didn't pass. I have one more try to pass. I felt like I did way worse than I did. The lady told me to work on reading and science just because they're the sections with the most questions, so if I can get those oh, then I should be in good shape. My science score was way low. Once I opened the science section, I could already feel that I was going to do bad in the science, which I did. I feel so frustrated studying the science. I took biology and chemistry two/three years ago. I threw all my notes away. And biology, I didn't like my teacher and everything we did was online, and we basically taught ourselves. But I really need to study up on my science! I just don't know how. Ugh.
