  1. I got in the program! I registered today, class starts Dec 15th, so excited and nervous
  2. After you graduated and passed the nclex-pn, did you go directly to an lpn-rn bridge program, an lpn-bsn program or some thing else?
  3. Hey kellykakes, what school?
  4. So there was a misunderstanding with me having everything completed but I'm all set now. Received a call from the advisor she says she doesn't know when registration starts but she will send letters when she knows. I'm officially excited , now the other task, paying for it. how is you guys' progress going?
  5. It's been amost a week since I turned in all my things and I'm so anxious to get an acceptance letter that I'm constantly checking my email and mailbox lol. I know it'll take a little bit of time for them to review and accept me but I'm so anxious!
  6. It wasn't mandatory for me to get cpr certified for sheridan. I know that's its in the curiculum when we actually start the program
  7. Same with Colleen2014, I passed by the skin of my teeth just enough to qualify for the program and not have to take it again. The reading and English were a breeze to me being that those subjects are the easiest for me, but the math and science were difficult seeing that when I did study, I studied a lot of anatomy and very little Chem (which the test is heavy in) there doesn't seem to be a waiting list because when I turned in my things the advisor made it seem like I was the first one to complete everything. Keep me posted on the teas etc
  8. Hey, I'm not going to mcfatter but I'm going to the sister school, sheridan tech hopefully. It also starts December and I have an appointment to see the guidance counselor Thursday to turn in all my things. Please keep me posted on the process thanks and good luck
  9. Thanks everyone for the input, Im decided to postpone the test date till the 8th of august. Im feeling more confident in the science section because i seem to be remembering everything now . Anantomy seem to be the easiest to remember for me. I kind of dont feel as worried anymore because so many of you guys have just studied for a week and pulled off excellent scores. Ive been studying for at least 4 months so no doubt I will do great. I just need to have positive thinking.
  10. Hello everyone, I am planning to take the teas in late july and started studying in sections. I have already covered the reading and language section. They are the easiest to me because I am the strongest in those subjects. I am in the science section now and im having trouble retaining the information. I use the ati manual along with some of the princeton nursing school tests guide, the teas crash course, and a complete idiots guide to nursing school exams. i have split it up where i memorize anantomy for two weeks then go on to the other sections. My questions are: How did you study for the teas math and science section? Was there a specific method you tried? How long did you study for each section? What was your score for math and science. Thank you for anyone who chimed in. Im just really nervous I may not be studying the right way and when its time to take the test, I dont get questions right and have to retake it.
  11. @shortguychris, Yes! The pct program allows you to be licensed in ekg and phlebotomy. Theres a lot of pluses when it comes to the pct, i was able to go to mcfatter today and the counselor told me that the pct articulates into the lpn program, so if i do decide to do pct, then i will have 160 hours or so under my belt once i go into the lpn program. I am leaning more towards the pct though because it is less expensive for me at the moment, knowing that the school doesn't allow student loans, itll be kind of a struggle to get all that money in, in the past, my school's financial aid did not give me one penny so i had to pay out of pocket. im still very young so im telling myself that theres no need to rush at all.
  12. I need advice as to how the heck I'm going to pay for Lpn school. I am not even in the program yet. I am still trying to choose between Mcfatter technical and sheridan tech in hollywood florida, however I went to speak to the counselor for mcfatter and she mentioned that they do not accept loans, but do scholarships and grants, plus deferments of payments only. the program is about 4,200 dollars excluding books and supplies. I was really thinking about carrying out a loan since I cannot pay up front. I want to be able to take my teas by may and have all my paperwork in by june so i will be set in the application process but i just dont know how i will be able to afford it.
  13. hey im interested in going to sheridan tech in august for the lpn program i have some questions. How are the instructors? which hospital do you do your clinicals in?
  14. Lpn is a cheaper and less difficult alternative to me. the cost to be an lpn at a tech center is way cheaper than what i was doing, which was attending a community college for two years( for pre reqs) then transferring to a big university to get my rn license. now when i become an lpn i can continue my education to be an rn right back at the community college, its a lot less. compare $36,000 to $9,000 with the lpn, then lpn-rn bridge.
  15. Well Mcfatter technical center and sheridan technical center offer the pct program. The cost is roughly a little over one thousand dollars excluding books. Mcfatter is in davie and Sheridan is in Hollywood. Im planning to enroll as a pct at mcfatter in August. Best of luck: )
