Spectacularly failed the reading section...
If you scored a 81 I would leave it at that and move on. Idk what your school requires but if you retake the teas you might get lower on another a section you did well on and who knows you may end up with another 81. It's not like you can just take the reading over. Unless you feel you can retake and get the same scores on math, sci, eng then go for it. 66% is consider passing you did well and have nothing to be ashamed about don't be so hard on yourself

Don't know if nursing is right for me
It might be easier and quicker to shadow at a nursing home.

New CNA job isn't working out. How to build a resume going forward?
How would we know what the right choice for you is? What you may not like others may like. Everything you described is pretty standard for LTC you didn't have clinical as a CNA. Sounds like home health is better for you

advice for single mothers back to school
Um maybe instead of a bsn do a two year college and go part time. That's what most single parents do, go part time and get your general ed classes done. Then when you child is 2-3 put her into day care/pre school program. Then either transfer to start the bsn or start the actual 2 yr nursing program. See if your state will pay for daycare through a state program. Look for daycares with a sliding scale. As far as work you have to figure that out everyone's situation is different. You are very lucky to only pay 30 dollars my mother used to charge me a lot more when she was a infant.

Keep your head up . Good luck you can do it!!!

Talking to self during exam
Yes talk your way through the skill even on hand washing...it also distracts the Procter a little. Good luck!!
-
Applying before certification
Yes!!! I would apply esp if your test date is right around the corner. Even after you interview it's still a process...references..background check etc...on the application under license I would just write your test date I did it and it worked. Some places will not give you a interview w/o it while others will...good luck

Advice on 1 year contracts
I've heard of this in hospitals where they waste a lot of time and money training people that wind up leaving a few weeks down the road. If I were you I wouldn't take the job. Not only is the pay not that great....how do you even know if you will like working there...or even being a cna better yet? Did you even tour the place. I wouldn't do it don't put all your eggs into one basket there will be more interviews and better opportunity good look on your job seach

Day in the life of a 10p-6a Nightshift CNA please
I understand I'm in the same boat with school and having to work at night. But yes if you work the over night shift there will be a huge disconnect from the residents. You will do the least amount of work on this shift. -re position every 2 hrs. -make sure they are dry and that's it your facility may have you do extra things 2nd shift is the same tasks as first shift -but you also will give them dinner -get them dressed for bed, transfers, brush their teeth And first shift (the busiest shift) -feed them breakfast and lunch -get them up do a bed bath or shower -peri care make sure their clean -get them dressed, brush teeth and hair
