I passed the IELTS, what should I do with it?

I passed the IELTS Academic exam. My lowest score is listening 8.5, reading 7.0, writing 8.0, speaking 8.5. What should I do with my IELTS? I'm a Filipino Nurse with 2 years 9 months experience in mental health. I'm currently an OFW in Oman. It's like all countries are open to me since I passed, and I don't know which country to pursue. Where should I go? I already have US licenses but since I find it difficult to go to the States, I want to know what the people think is the easiest country to go to.

Great because I meet the two years requirement for New Zealand

you also have to do the CAP in NZ. It's a 6-8 weeks programme similar to that of the bridging program. The available slots are limited, though. And you have to have a slot within 18 months.

I don't know the current employment situation in NZ is, but in case it's difficult and you opt for a permanent residency without a sponsor, their point-system selection is tighter than that of Australia. With the current immigration points and selection of applicants by both NZ and AU, you'll probably score equal or a little above the required points to be eligible to apply, but you'll find it hard to be invited for NZ and almost 90-100% chance of being selected for AU. It's because NZ gives point for those with job offer and put them first in the selection, whereas in AU, they have a separate visa category for those with job offer.

Just something to think about.

Hi. I agree with Iamnomad about the employment availability here. At this time, it is so hard to find a full time job that gives job offer for visa application. Some of the new rns here have to go to the countryside or accept caregiving jobs. I know a filipino rn that he left nz because he couldn't find a job 6 months after his cap course. Also, some employers here they prefer applicants who have existing work visas like for instance caregivers here who eventually become rn. I don't want to discourage you but this is the current situation here. Before I always tell my friends, come to NZ, for me this is the best place to start when you are aiming to settle in Australia, UK or US because immigration here was so easy before. But I didn't think the situation will change like this. Anyway, congratulations for passing the IELTS and good luck.

So who else has passed the IELTS and what did you do with it?

you should have had a plan on what to do with it before you took the IELTS. your options, of course, are limited to English-speaking countries for immigration and nurse registration.

You're right, I should not have taken the IELTS. I have no plan.

Wow. You are so great. You have an excellent IELTS score. It is like a bridge to go everywhere you want.

Rude but direct to the point.

You have to have a plan buddy. You got to determine where you want to work FIRST, know the requirements and go get the needed scores.

Good luck!

why don't you try in Australia or the UK? Since these countries require IELTS and you already have yours.

Because...the UK has shut the gate on overseas nurses and not everybody can afford the 10-16,000au plus living expenses for 3 months for the bridging program for Australia, with fast lowering odds for gaining a sponsorship job or any visa after completion.=, just heard of a nurse applicant did not get positive response from expression of interest for a state sponsorship.

What ios the difference between IELTS and TOEFL? Is IELTS accepted to American Board of Nursing?

There is no American board of nursing. Each state has their own requirement and some accept it and others don't.
