I did not pass....

Published

It takes a lot of guts to get on here and tell everyone that I did not pass. I attempted Transition to the Registered Professional Nurse Role and got a "D". I knew halfway through the test that I was in trouble. I was ****** at myself for trying to skirt around this exam and not buy the recommended book. I bought Lisa notes and downloaded some stuff of of yahoo groups and bought the practice test but it was just not enough. I studied everything I had but I was missing the foundation that put it all together. I will never(and I mean NEVER) take another test without buying the recommended books and reading them. I didn't do it for the other 3 I took so I don't know why I thought I could do it for this one.

My main reason for posting was to warn others not to sleep on this test. It is a facts based test with a smidget of critical thinking and I just did not have all the facts I needed to pass. I will move on to Test 5 Health Differences Across The lifespan 1 and pick this one up in the end. This is a setback but it did not detour me, it just made me a little wiser and more determined to pick up the pieces and keep going. Thanks for listening.

This must be a new test, since I enrolled...sounds greek to me. But I got a D on one test...wish i had taken pre test. After that I took all the pretests and passed them all. That D really hurt my GPA..Live an learn.

NC girl, I must say, you have done a wonderful job. One test will not stop you from reaching your goal. I believe we all have hit a snag or two at some point in our learning process, but it's threads like these, where we are truthful with one another and the support you know you'll receive is motivation enough to keep going. I am very proud of you.

WAIT, I thought if you failed a test and retake it and pass, that grade replaces the failing grade.

No, no I'm wrong, it's always the failing grade gets counted in the GPA.

Thanks everyone for your heart felt encouragement! I have moves on with the next test and studying daily. I talked with a EC rep and I have to wait 60 days to retake it.(Which is fine with me) She said once I retake it, The new grade will replace the old grade. So back to reading and doing the practice test. I also bought 3 TCN books off Ebay to help with the next 3 test. I will also listen to myself the next time and reschedule if I feel unsure. Again thanks and I wish everyone well on their studies!

I am with EC also ..I was at their EPN web link, on their CPNE discussion board...I am assuming you have visited regularly they offer a lot of tips and support. I kick myself for not checking EPN when it became available. Today was my first day. The study guide I am finding out goes step by step, with what you are evaluated it on, I am finding that helpful too. It nice to meet other EC students here too.

Oh, I also want to apologize to Allnurses. Although I did not curse in my original post, I can see why you censored my choice of wording. Sorry:o

No harm done. Looks like the automated filter got it, so no one even saw what you originally typed.
