It takes a lot of guts to get on here and tell everyone that I did not pass. I attempted Transition to the Registered Professional Nurse Role and got a "D". I knew halfway through the test that I was in trouble. I was ****** at myself for trying to skirt around this exam and not buy the recommended book. I bought Lisa notes and downloaded some stuff of of yahoo groups and bought the practice test but it was just not enough. I studied everything I had but I was missing the foundation that put it all together. I will never(and I mean NEVER) take another test without buying the recommended books and reading them. I didn't do it for the other 3 I took so I don't know why I thought I could do it for this one.
My main reason for posting was to warn others not to sleep on this test. It is a facts based test with a smidget of critical thinking and I just did not have all the facts I needed to pass. I will move on to Test 5 Health Differences Across The lifespan 1 and pick this one up in the end. This is a setback but it did not detour me, it just made me a little wiser and more determined to pick up the pieces and keep going. Thanks for listening.

I'm so sorry NC Girl. Just get back on the horse, and go back to that one when you're ready. This goes to show that everyone is different and, no one should rely solely on another person's experiece to make their own decisions. I passed this exam with a B with only and hour of study, and some free Yahoo notes. However a lot of stuff was just common sense to ME, and those things may not be common sense to others. Study in the way that you KNOW works for you, when you find it.
Again, I'm so sorry. But ya know, I'll bet you ace it the next time around.

OUCH!
Sorry that happened to you.
I appreciate the warning! I haven't taken any Ec test yet but I am taking pre reqs at cc.
Truthfully I have been hearing so much about Lisa and study group notes , that I thought might could skip text books too.
Thanks for the heads up.
I know you will do better next time.

It's easy to underestimate this exam because the material is so darn dry ... and yes, you have courage! Good for you with your positive attitude; I'm glad you're coming away from this experience with a new resolve and a new plan. *hugs*

I'm sorry to hear you didn't pass. That exam was one of the hardest for me, I got "c". I know how you feel though. I got a "D" on my A&P and was really upset about it. However, I knew I wasn't prepared for the exam, but wanted to try so it was my own fault. Keep your head high, and keep moving at the pace you're going. I'm sure when you take it again, you'll be prepared and do great! Good luck!

After reading some of the notes for this test, I realized that it is based on FACTS. You really can't critical think FACTS, I'm really sorry to hear this. I know that you will regroup and try again, YOU BETTER!!!!!!

Thank you for sharing! Although almost everyone does seem to hit a little snag somewhere along the way (whether it's failing an exam or just having to slow down for a while), it does take a truly strong person to come and reveal the truth. We can tell that you learned a lot from your experience, and others will learn from you as well.
We're crossing our fingers for you on the next one!
Thanks everyone for your kind words and encouragement! You are a good bunch of people. I know I will pass this test on the next round but I'm not gonna tackle it now. I did well on the RN roles and responsibilities(got 85%)but I did terrible with the history(48%). That is what killed me. I still need to tighten up on the Framework for Nursing and Health care delivery systems because I only scored in the low 60's on them. At least I know where to polish up. Thanks again.
Oh, I also want to apologize to Allnurses. Although I did not curse in my original post, I can see why you censored my choice of wording. Sorry:o

It does take a lot of guts to tell us about it, however, I think that the next time around you will ACE the test. Keep on going, you'll do great on the next one!!

NC girl,
Thank you for sharing. Just keep telling yourself that with more preparation...you'll pass next time with flying colors. Don't lose faith in yourself - it's way too hard to get it back. You can do this!!
