This is my story:
I am very excited to say I passed the NCLEX-PN exam! I walked out of the testing center KNOWING I failed. I just knew I did. After leaving the building, I walked to my car, and tried the PVT (little inpatient, I know)! Much to my surprise my status already said delivery successful. Well, I got the "good pop up!" That's when I told myself, ok I will be the first this does not work for. So, as soon as I got home (30 minutes later), I went on the Board of Nursing. My name was next to Licensed Practical Nurse!!! I am now just waiting for my license number! Wow! This trick really does work! I didn't even have to pay for the quick results!
This all seems too good to be true. I took my exam Friday and I start my new job Monday as a Nurse Grad. Now I can start under LPN status and not Nurse Grad status! I feel so lucky!
I took Kaplan:
I have read many post on hear that stated Kaplan was harder than the NCLEX. I felt NCLEX was waaaaaay harder than Kaplan; but felt Kaplan was pretty comparable. Kaplan definitely prepared me to answer more difficult questions. I studied for 3 weeks prior to the exam. I did 100% of my qbanks and watched Kaplan videos on my weakest areas. My total qbank score was a 50%. I averged my qbank score for my last week and ended up with 55%. This isn't too bad since I started off getting 30's and 40's.
For anyone preparing for the NCLEX PN or RN, I wish you the best of luck!

Congratulations :yelclap:. Was Kaplan your only resource?
I pretty much did Kaplan. I did some Saunders, but did Kaplan qbanks every day and reviewed the Kaplan videos on my weak areas. 2 of my classmates just did Saunders and some other review books and they passed as well. So, I guess you may not need Kaplan to pass the test, but I don't know I would have. Definitely don't think I would have stopped at the minimum 85 questions without it. I don't regret doing Kaplan at all. Like I said, it really prepared me to answer more difficult questions. I didn't think Saunders questions were as difficult, but nevertheless it is a great study tool.
I plan on doing the LPN to RN bridge next year. When it is time for me to take the NCLEX-RN, I will be doing Kaplan again. Don't think I am going to buy the whole shabang, but will get the Kaplan qbanks for sure. :)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Thank you for the response. I have been using Kaplan and the NCLEX 3000 PN link someone else on here posted and I am just beginning to get a little nervous. I really want this to be a one shot deal. My school purchased the Kaplan for us (really only the question bank) so I can't do their readiness exam to see where I am. The qbank only allows you to do 50 questions at a time and I have done 75% of the 1000 questions in the bank and I have averaged from 58% to 74%; but it is only a 50 question test each time.
I am beginning to freak out a little.

Yes, vid, bank q of 50. How's your content?
Dreaming88,
What I learned from Kaplan was to not look for the right answer, but instead eliminate 3 of the wrong answers 1st. That really helped me during the NCLEX. I felt Kaplan questions were really hard, so I got used to answering difficult questions. I have read many, many, many post on this form and found a lot of opinions that stated Kaplan was harder than the NCLEX. I didn't feel that way. I feel NCLEX was waaaaaay harder; but Kaplan trained my brain to answer more difficult questions. Stick with Kaplan do at least 50 questions per day and on most days do @ least 100-200 questions per day. I feel yes, Kaplan is all you need. Don't worry too much if you aren't getting high scores on the qbanks. Instead, read all of your rationales (whether you got them right or wrong) and that will assist you in passing the NCLEX. I didn't do any studying the day before. It is important to give your brain 1 day of rest before the exam. I hope this helps. :)
